New in the maverick universe. Moving from a Prius to a 2024 XL fw hybrid

Having a brown lab, i want a bed cap for the dog. I saw this model:

Has anyone install this type of beb canopy? How do you feel about it?

I don't know anything about that one, but man, that sure is nice looking!! Hefty, hefty price tag I bet. Regardless, nice looking and appears to be quite functional.

Looks nice but what's it cost? You'd think you'd get a break cause it's so small but, nope.

The other option I m looking at is the Leer 180xl. It around 5,000$ CAD...

So far I haven't seen anything that will offer dogs the ventilation that is needed to keep them from cooking in a hot box. They make dog trailers that are even air conditioned, or fans that will alarm if they go out. Depending where you live and or type of traveling you might want to look into.

Also Google how trucks either from wind swirling into the cab from back or in a back up on the highway have died from fumes.

I m near Montreal. I had a f 150 before with a fiberglass bedcap, with sliding windows. Perfect for dog. But indeed, you need to keep an eye for temperature!!

Specific model I m looking for is has side windows.

My solution little over 1000 bucks 35lbs.and fits in a backpack for storage

I love our ARE MX topper, I did a few mods to it which you can find in my threads, sorry im terrible at putting in the links( will try to later). We got a slider window on one side and the windoor on the other. If I did it again I would definitely get windoors on both sides.

That topper looks good, very similar to a SmartCap. Which if it can be disassembled and boxed up for shipping is great. Only thing that would concern me is where it is produced. If you track its production to western regions of China it is highly likely that it is manufactured using actual slave labor. Yes they are muslim, and we dont need to get into any thing political or philosophical, but as a human, I have a hard time buying something cheap that another human may have been beaten on while making it. Just please research it before you buy it.

The fitment of that canopy is trash.

I believe Leer has a cab profile canopy that is out or coming out very soon.
