We are driving regular traffic. No offence, but there is nothing special about the Mav. Even real broncos - only the ones that are slightly modified wave, and I’ll wave back.

we aren’t riding motorcycles here 😂

Exiting our neighborhood and saw a Carbon Grey Maverick from the left. Driver was waving at me and I mustered a first ever wave back. Lol

It's no secret that we, as Maverick owners, are privileged to be in such an exclusive society. Ford still isn't cranking them out like crazy yet and the supply still has not quite met demand either.

That said: I feel compelled to salute every Maverick owner I see on my travels. I feel an unspoken camaraderie with them/you guys.

I usually end up acknowledging that by giving them what I've deemed "The Mav Signal". I just give a little🤙in passing-which, when I position my hand where my pinky and thumb are pointing upwards, it kinda looks like...you guessed it...Maverick horns! 😅

Just trying to gauge the community on this one: Is it cool 😎 or am I nuts 🤪 for doing this? (My daughter thinks it's the latter.)
That's funny. I've given a few horn toots to the mav owners myself.

I flick my brights at them if it's daytime; if it's night I don't notice them and vice versa.

There are literally 5 threads aleady on this topic.

I mean, if it's important to you, look them up.... Maybe those guys already came to a wave consensus back in 2021?
No.

Absolutely! I've actually given and received some acknowledgement flicks myself.

I got my Maverick in January of 2022. Weren't very many on the road back then, so it was kind of a big deal for me to run into another one. First time we both honked, waved, and grinned as though we were in some sort of conspiracy but didn't mind the rest of the world hearing about it.

Yesterday, I turned down my short street and spotted a brand new white XLT hybrid parked in front of the neighbor. What? Two Mavericks on my street? Cool. Turns out it belonged to a worker. We talked. He's thrilled with the truck having traded in his 9 mpg 2011 F-150. It was a fun conversation and he's anxious to join the MTC.

Here's the 'yang' to that 'ying': Later in the day found myself behind a white Lariat hybrid at a left turn signal. Turned out his destination was the same as mine, a restaurant. I parked one stall over, got out and gave him and his wife a thumbs up. They both looked at me as if I was from another planet . . . clueless. I went into the restaurant and joined my party. He came in a minute later. I said to him, "Nice truck", thinking he had seen my Maverick. After all, how could he have missed it. I followed him for a mile to the restaurant. He mumbled a barely decipherable "Thank you". I said, "Mine's the blue one just outside". He turned to look, shrugged his shoulders and went on his way as if I didn't exist. Registered himself as an Adam Henry in my book.

We're pioneers. We're proving not everyone needs to have a pickup the size of an Abrams tank. Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I like to think of Maverick owners as a brotherhood of sorts.
