I figured I’d post some pics of my off-road exhaust for the prerunner build .
I got the Fast Mavericks downpipe and extension pipe along with antifouler.I had purchased an AFE side exit cat back kit about 6 months ago and waited for their run of kits to come in .
And finally got around to spending a day to do it.
Luckily I have a spacer/ drop kit on my front subframe making room at the back of the engine a lot easier.
the clearance clarance is a lot better now , no low hanging fruit out back !
Spool up is quicker and obviously more pronounced.
Overall install was slow and steady,I did tig weld the cat back and reducer I added .the downpipe and extension was 3” and cat back kit is 2 1/2”( all that’s offered right now.)I may go 3” to bullet muffler with side output oval or nascar style side dump from downpipe later we will see . Time is always an issue.
Anyways with new tuner going on this week should see some good gains , may take to 1/8mile track on Friday ,see what it does on 32’s
The quality of the Fast mavericks pipes - top notch , along with quality band clamp, with notched band rings ,quality flex joint and thick pipes. The afe kit is good fitting , a little thinner on material and obviously production welds.
Sound is strong with no cats and side exit with just a small straight through muffler.
Drone is not bad under 75 mph , but it does get a little loud at full send when moving out but to be expected .
Once I finish the stereo I’m adding this week , can always keep that volume up!
Two fasteners will be the majority of your time taking stock stuff off!
The block hugging stock downpipe nut ( 15mm) a real pain to get to , best is to take intake pipe off.
And insert a deep 15mm with a universal on a 10” extension from drivers side to behind the cold side intake tube and ratchet from above next to battery.
The other one is the factory hot cat has a support bracket with a 21 mm nut that takes forever to get off!
One click at a time!
But all aside it came out good , my skid plates from jcr are coming in soon and should provide a smooth strong bottom for trail dragging .
I will be doing a complex stadium style truck rear bumper to wrap under to center diff to mount a stout skid plate then.
Will post later
