Maverick XL spontaneously locking doors.

Mine does it often and I'm not a have person when it does it. No consistency to when or how when it locks. Been locked out many times.

What can I do to get this fixed? No one seem to have any answers to the fix.

Are you accidentally pressing on this button when you pull on the handle? It will lock the door but not the others!

probably not though. You leave your keys in it and it locks. My new 24 did it yesterday. Dealerships know about it but can't do anything about it.

Thanks I will be paying close attention to find some pattern. When it locks your truck when you leave keys in truck. Does it lock all doors.

Now, my XL does not have Keyless Enter. I just have the key with a lock and unlock buttons.

All I want is my doors not to lock themselves at any time. Is that too much to ask from Ford? Now around the yard I put them on the wipers, so I don't have to carry them around. Getting gas I have to leave the window down.

I reported this issue 24 months ago. Still no fix and only smart ass comments earlier from some on the forum. Welcome to my Maverick world. My dealer actually cut a complimentary entry only key for me. Your best bet is to ALWAYS HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON when exiting your truck. I do it every time - even when I know I'm going to lock it with the fob as I walk away. I'm so paranoid that I also roll down the window or leave the door open if I'm making a quick stop for mail, etc. (even in the rain). I really like my Mav notwithstanding its cheap interior finish and thin exterior paint. The price point was right.

I've had mine lock as I reach to open the door. In the yard I leave the window open or the keys by the rear window if I don't want to carry them around with me.
