I have been teasing some things done to my Maverick over the last several weeks.
  • Rough Country 2-inch strut lift kit
  • ALPHAEQUIPT HALO CUV 17-inch wheels with 245/70-17 VREDESTEIN PINZA HT tires
  • A.R.E. V-series (cab high) shell painted to match (replaces the A.R.E. MX/mid-rise series that I sold to a MTC member)
  • JCR Off Road finally delivered a modified engine cover that fits properly - since mine has some items their truck didn't have.
  • To be done still: I am waiting for two of the three JCR Off Road skid plates to arrive.
Now I have pictures.

What was the issue with engine cover?
You will see two cutouts on the right-hand side of the picture. One for the cable that goes down toward the engine (small cutout just above the "2.0L" emblem). The other is a larger cutout for a hose that goes down toward the engine. This larger cutout is just to the right of the oval oil dipstick opening.

It might be because my Maverick was sold in California. Or it might be a result of modifications made to later models. I believe they now have two different patterns. The one you see pictured was the fourth one they sent me - it fits perfectly.

  1. The slots were not in the right places on the first one. They worked from pictures and did an excellent job getting the slots close.
  2. The slots were in the right place on the second one. Yet, they were not quite big enough -- the engine fixtures were rubbing up against the engine cover.
  3. The slots were in the right place, and they were the right size. Unfortunately, the CAD was altered, and one of the holes was drilled in the wrong place.
  4. The fourth one was perfect.
I am amazed at the exceptional customer service and their design ability. As a result, I went ahead and ordered all three of the skid plates. I hope to receive them next week and to have them installed by the first week of May. I will ask the installers to take pictures while the Maverick is on the rack.

Does the maverick come with the cover or should I say a cover? Mine doesn't have one . I picked up my truck 2 weeks ago and it never had one on it

No engine covers on any version of the Maverick.
Thank you wasn't sure because when you look at it it has the standoffs and the screws for one they must have deleted it from the build when they started putting them out there

The JCR Off Road engine cover comes with metal standoffs. The cover uses four standoffs: the two plastic ones you see on your engine and two metal ones that screw into holes (that look like are there for the standoffs). The metal standoffs are supplied by JCR Off Road with the cover.

What does the engine cover do for you? Sorry if this is a dumb question!
It's not a dumb question at all!

It doesn't serve any purpose - strictly for how it dresses up the engine bay.

Those skid plates look nice- Do you remove the felt or just leave it in place ? The plates say they are 80 pounds for the pair..

AWESOME Engine Cover! Who makes it, because I would like one to "dress up" the engine.

The skid plates have not arrived yet, and it doesn't look like they will arrive in time for my originally scheduled appointment on 4/15. Thus, it looks like I am going to get bumped to 5/6 to have them installed. I hope to have pictures once they are installed and while the Maverick is still on the lift.
