For more context I dropped the truck off for service and they said what I am experiencing is normal.

On my drive to the dealership, it took about 10 minutes into the 15 min drive to manifest.

A squeak coming on when braking (or at least only heard when no power to engine and brake applied). It is an oscillating squeak, that appears to coincide with the wheels rotation. I also heard it continue after I let off the brake going up a slight incline in the dealership parking lot.

The dealership says it is normal for the local humidity, and the heat in the braking system. But our 7 year old Renegade does not do this. Does anyone have any experience with this or opinion?

This truck has 500 miles, so I feel now is when factory defects will start to crop up. I was going to take it to another dealer to be looked at for a second opinion, it did not exhibit this squeak when I got it.

My 2023 Lariat does this, and it is humidity dependent. However my 2024 XL doesn't.

I went down a rabbit hole of troubleshooting just to find that it is, indeed, an usual brake squeak. When I was about to turn the rotors and replace the pads it stopped.

I suspect there's an oversized metal chunk in the brake pad compound or something. Harmless but annoying.

My girlfriend rides passenger and says she can feel it under her feet and it's more noticeable hearing it to her.

I was still gonna have another tech confirm it for me. I suspected pads/rotos based on the sound I hear as the driver.

I can't say I could ever feel anything that coincided with the noise. It's a quick squeak that happened every wheel revolution, up to about 45 MPH.
If you feel a rumble or imbalance with it, it could be a CV axle. They seem to fail prematurely on Mavericks and Escapes.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.
