I have successfully used Forscan 2-3 times but I am by no means an expert. Maybe someone can answer two questions.

1. I keep seeing people referring to "Easy Mode". What is "easy mode"? On the verison I have don't see any mode selection
or any mention of "easy mode".

2. What is meant by "let Forscan correct the checksum"? I've made changes before and I don't recall clicking anything
about "let Forscan correct the checksum". Where is this?

Thanks.

Not an expert either, but I'll try:

1. Easy mode is where the selections display is mostly plain English. You can make selection changes via dropdown menu - yes/no type changes. This is compared to editing the actual code itself which shows in the as-built sections.

2. You would only see the checksum changes in the as-built sections.

Got it. Thanks. I've only used "easy mode" but didn't realize it had a name.

So when the OP writes "...let Forscan correct the checksum", he really means click YES to "Continue anyway" as Forscan isn't correcting anything?

One final question. After making the changes is it necessary to click either "Load All", "Save All" or "Write All" showing toward the bottom?

Write All will make the changes to the truck. I'm not sure what Load All or Save All does. I do know that the Load Factory AB button is supposed to go out to the Ford site and reload all of the factory settings for that section, which you can then write back to the truck.
