I had the same experience with a hard stop imminent collision - avoided the smart phone enthusiast that pulled out in front of me by about a foot.If a vehicle is in your blind spot and the indicator is on, the "little" bump cannot be overcome. Did not test right turn but it appeared that steering was locked when imminent collision screen was activated in straight ahead with truck stopping about 6-12" from impact so it appeared computer was in "no sweat" mode. Could not say if it was my pressure or trucks automatic stopping but stopping was achieved without skidding tires and I could not have put any more pressure onto pedal.
I wasn't sure either if it was me or the Maverick that did the braking though. The dash board did light up red. I did not notice that the steering wheel was locked to go straight ahead though.
However -
I did not know that if a vehicle is in your blind spot the bump cannot be overcome!
I have a hard time believing that.
And there is no way of testing it.
How do you know that?
