I've had many covers over the years soft and hard.

I prefer the hard but only if I can easily take it off and hang it on the garage wall for times when I don't want it on the truck.

I always use big WM totes in the bed to keep things dry and keep them all in one place.

I like ARE covers but will wait until the aftermarket gets up to speed and I see what is offered.

I have had a few trucks over the years, never had a tonneau cover as I didn't have the money at the time.

I am considering getting one for my Maverick, for a combination of looks and keeping my stuff dry if it happens to rain on me while I have gear in the bed.

Yes, I could (and likely will) watch YouTube and read reviews, but I also figured I'd ask you folks what you thought about tonneau covers.

Do you use one? Does it keep your cargo dry? Does having one effect your fuel economy? Do you prefer soft, hard folding, or hard roll up?

Yeah, that's a lot of questions.

I'm not planning on using one as more than a visual theft deterrent, as I don't plan to leave anything of value in the bed unattended.

I may not even need one, but if nothing else they look nice and the soft ones at least are pretty cheap aftermarket.
I have the truxedo roll up one and it works great. I am thinking of taking it off for the summer and putting on rails but for the winter I will Definity keep it on! It does have some leakage but overall it has worked great for less than $300.

I ended up with a BAK Revolver X4S hard rollup. I would recommend it.
