Picked up our 24 Lariat Hybrid on Wednesday and have been busy over the last couple of days with a few accessory installs, So far really enjoying the new truck. Installed WeatherTech floor mats, Diode Dynamics LED bulbs, Mabett Flaps and Fender Flares, Synetica USA retractible Tonneau cover, Rhino roof rack and Elevate Bed rack. The next task is getting the Roadmaster baseplates installed so we can flat tow it.

As an update I have ordered a Demco baseplate in lieu of the Roadmaster. Should be much less destructive to the Mav.

LOOKS GREAT! we had cactus gray ordered and it never showed so we ended up with carbonized gray - still love it of course. I notice here you mentioned roadmaster base plate and that's where I was going before reading some of the conversations, and finding out about Demco's efforts to make there's even less intrusive, easier to install. Please keep us posted on how it goes for you!

Glad to see others using it as a towed. Planning on doing the same at the beginning of the year.

We have not towed yet. I still need to get the base plates installed on the Mav. I'm guessing we may need to run a charge wire to the Mav.
You will need to run a 12v charge wire from the MH, or your battery will be dead.

We've not had much rainy weather here so no real world testing yet. I really just needed lockable storage to protect camping equipment from theft. Not too concerned about a little water intrusion. I don't think you will ever find a tonneau cover that is completely weather sealed. But overall very pleased with the cover. It's a Retrax Pro knockoff purchased from Amazon for $900.

One more thing you need to know, do not connect the charge cable until after you have enabled the neutral tow feature.
Can you explain further? I've not had any negative experience with my setup (Ford Transit 350-HD RV and Maverick) with power coming through the 7-pin to 6-pin cable. The Transit doesn't send power through the cable until the Transit is on and the cable is connected.

Brad on my setup I won't have an electrical connection between the two vehicles as I am using wireless magnetic lights. The wireless transmitter plugs into the 7 pin socket on the back of the RV and talks to the receiver on the Mav. So I'll have to run a separate charge line to the Mav battery.

I'm just using the normal 6-pin, with diodes in the tail lights and the charge-wire going to a Hopkins battery maintainer (fused with a diode) to the underhood battery points. I was just trying to determine what @a***h thought would be an issue.

I honestly cannot say whether or not I have entered/exited NT with the charge wire connected and live in my travels.

I'll pay attention to keeping it "unalive" until in NT if there is a reason. The Ford Transit will not send 12v through the 7-pin/6-pin cable unless the cord is connected AND the Transit is running. I may or may not have had the Transit running and connected while I engaged/disengaged NT. I won't do that if there is a reason not to.

I can tell you that the wait is pretty painful. It was 14 months for us. But it is worth the wait. Have had so much fun with accessorizing our first pickup truck. Decided to go with the new Demco baseplate as it is the least destructive to the Mav fascia and active shutter system. Check out Tweetys for the best price. Any Demco baseplate is 575.59 with free shipping. Just order by the Demco part number 9519360. We will be using the NSA ReadyBrute Elite II system with the surge brake for the tow bars.
Greetings! I am going with the same RV set up. Have you done the NSA install Yet? If so did you install the Surge Break with the Facia off the truck or when it was on? Were there any challenges installing the Surge Break? Thanks so much in advance.
