That is exactly what happened to me. I ordered an XLT Hybrid lux from the local Vancouver Island Ford Dealer on Sept 20 2022. At the time I was not informed that they had no more allocations for 2023, so they basically sold me a truck they knew was unobtainable in that model year. (that is why I got absolutely no updates in 13 months). However they were quick to reorder a 2024 on July 17th, but they did not do the rollover properly (even though I was physically at the Dealer in an attempt to make sure). They ended up cancelling my original order, so now there was no chance of any rollover protection (aprox $3500). To say it was the hight of incompetence would be an understatement. So ethically induced, I cancelled my 24 order at that dealer and reordered at another local dealer on Oct 20/23. ( and now less than 3 months later, have a build date of the 3rd week of Feb 24). Oddly enough, even though Ford chat had told me that my original order had been cancelled, that original Dealer is now offering the exact same truck with the exact same options/color etc. on their website as an incoming model, at a $5000 mark-up. That same Dealer during the course of this fiasco, also had no information about rollover protection and flatly told me that there is none available in Canada. So the take away here is that all Ford Dealers look about the same on the outside, but it's their ethics that make the difference. My advice would be to do some research and find a decent one, because they are out there. That means the dealer either didn't roll it over properly, or didn't place the order properly in the first place and just placed a new order.
