That means the dealer either didn't roll it over properly, or didn't place the order properly in the first place and just placed a new order.
That is exactly what happened to me. I ordered an XLT Hybrid lux from the local Vancouver Island Ford Dealer on Sept 20 2022. At the time I was not informed that they had no more allocations for 2023, so they basically sold me a truck they knew was unobtainable in that model year. (that is why I got absolutely no updates in 13 months). However they were quick to reorder a 2024 on July 17th, but they did not do the rollover properly (even though I was physically at the Dealer in an attempt to make sure). They ended up cancelling my original order, so now there was no chance of any rollover protection (aprox $3500). To say it was the hight of incompetence would be an understatement. So ethically induced, I cancelled my 24 order at that dealer and reordered at another local dealer on Oct 20/23. ( and now less than 3 months later, have a build date of the 3rd week of Feb 24). Oddly enough, even though Ford chat had told me that my original order had been cancelled, that original Dealer is now offering the exact same truck with the exact same options/color etc. on their website as an incoming model, at a $5000 mark-up. That same Dealer during the course of this fiasco, also had no information about rollover protection and flatly told me that there is none available in Canada. So the take away here is that all Ford Dealers look about the same on the outside, but it's their ethics that make the difference. My advice would be to do some research and find a decent one, because they are out there.

Interesting experience. Must have been frustrating. I have yet to hear from a dealer or Canadian customer that rollover price protection exists in Canada. I am hoping in this thread that somebody will chime in with a positive rollover experience in Canada.

Glad to hear you received price protection. Was that a rollover, or was it protection within a model year?
Protection within model year, 2021 order for MY22, delivered summer 22. I'm extremely glad I didn't have to deal with a rollover, because the ownership of my dealer changed just a few weeks after I got my truck! That made a huge difference in 22, because that was when the rates jumped a lot. I was able to lock in at the max 3.5% Ford offered for MY22, vs the 6.xx% they were offering when my order came in.

That was a big difference in financing. Too bad you didn’t have a rollover protection story, was hoping you’d be the first one. My dealership says I’ll be finance rate protected, but does that mean to first order 10/22 or new order for rollover from 08/23. Ford Canada is a mystery.

Yes they are, the impression I got from other people was that they just tell people to talk to the dealerships. I've never had to deal with Ford directly for anything, so I don't know. The entire buying process is made harder by these foolish laws propping up these mega auto groups. It made sense when dealers were small single location shops, but that is rarely the case today.

After all I was hearing on this forum about sleazy dealers, $10k markups, trucks sold out from under people, I was very nervous about the entire process. Thankfully someone else on here at the time had ordered from the same dealer, so I had hope. I still went into the dealer the day to purchase it and expected the worst. Any shenanigans (markups, unwanted add-ons) and I was going to walk out the door and drive away in my still perfectly running RAV4. I suspect if my truck had come a month later I would have had to walk, the new ownership is a national chain and everything they sell appears marked up from what I could see at the time, and still is to this day.

The 23 I ordered in July which is now a 24 model is arriving in Winnipeg tomorrow. Released to the dealer to purchase on the 10th. I was with River City so ill let you know how this goes. I don't think they are respecting the APR rate only the 23' price that I signed on unfortunately.

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I was reading lots of info last night and it seemed to me you’re more likely to get apr from order time than price freeze. I hope you get both. Good luck.

I ordered an XLT Hybrid lux, 360, March 23, supposed to be built early Feb. My dealer says I don't get any price protection. I'm not happy about that!
While that is unethical some dealers know they can do almost anything they want. They hope you walk away then sell it for more

Any Canadian buyers get their 2024 Mavericks yet? What was your experience with price protection? Rollover 2023 to 2024 price protection? Interest rate lock in?

Any Canadian Maverick buyers yet with a rollover order? My dealer is vaguely saying Ford will do something to help out with 23 to 24 rollover price protection. My Mav is scheduled for early February build.
thats just a travesty, how can you order your vehicle so long ago and theirs people who ordered late 2023 and already has their mavricks in their driveway? i ordered mine in august of 2023 and its on a train already and you ordered yours in 2022 and still isn't built. what absolute bullshit

…and Ford sits by silent. Watching this chat reading it… silent. Raising the price on Canadian customers while having a price protection program for USA. Any comments? @Ford Motor Company
