some of the delays yes but that recall only affects vehicles built before November 13 or 16 i don't remember which. mine started production on the 27th and they are telling me it will be finished production on January 9. i don't understand why a vehicle can be in production for over a month if they can typically build 13000 mavericks in a month. they are holding some key info back for sure
Yes, but all those recalled vehicles clog up the factory parking lot and overload the shipping capacity when they are updated and released at the same time as the regular production. They probably went some weeks with no shipment of Mavericks at all.
Yes I agree but there are mavericks built in December just weeks after mine that have already been shipped, this is confusing
They don't build and then ship in FIFO order. When the parking lots get overload it can be more efficient to release them in the most convenient order which is probably not FIFO.
oh... well thats sad to hear, i wish they would just say what it is and be transparent. their just telling me it wont finish production until jan 9.
I agree. We have gotten spoiled by Amazon's real-time communications of deliver status of a $4 gadget and Ford can't tell us what is going on with our $30K purchase. Ford is behind the times in technology and communications.
I think this may be Tracker specific issue. I reached out my sales rep a short while ago to get his thoughts, he said when he has been checking on the status of my truck every day using the dealership's tracker and their system shows my truck as "Built and Awaiting Shipment." So apparently the customer facing Tracker is not up to date. Without me ever asking he went on to say that he plans to track it real time once it ships.
im in the same boat, xlt tremor, lux package. trucks built December 1 and later are already getting shipped but ours are stuck for some reason. ford chat says it will finish "Production" on January 9. makes no sense to take more than a month to build 1 truck when they typically build 13,000 trucks in a month
I've shared that my dealer has told me my truck is Built and Awaiting Shipping, all the while the tracker shows it still In Production. So I decided to call Ford's CS number again and ask what they see on their side. No surprise, it's still In Production. The CS rep was very nice (as they all have been), so I told her that concerns on this forum are brewing over the delays. I also relayed that similarly equipped trucks that entered production after Dec 1 are shipping, but ones from as far back as mid-Nov seem to be stuck. I added that all of these trucks are similarly equipped, so constraints shouldn't be an issue. I suggested she tell her bosses so someone can come clean with information to quell the concerns. She asked if I'd fill out the survey at the close of the call and I politely declined, saying that I would probably give them low numbers if I did.
You are right JBEN110. How can Ford chat tell you your truck will finally finish being built exactly some 19 days from now, when most trucks are started and completed in just a couple days. That also doesn't take into account that your build STARTED more than a month ago already!
