I haven't installed the hoses yet. So i can't say how leak proof it is since i have all the water going straight into the bed right now. Being leakproof wasn't my first concern anyway. Its easy to waterproof things you are transporting anyway. I will mainly have sea eagle kayaks in the bed. The clamps could interfere with the moving tiedown system if you bought it but you can place them anywhere along the length so maybe not.

If you buy this, the manual doesn't match this version. You'll see a few discrepancies but it isn't too hard to install. Best done with a helper to make sure things stay aligned, although they do give you an alignement panel to keep it square.

I feel that is incorrect because it says in stock at the top on their website and on amazon from the same shipper it says arrives december 11th. Even though it says expected back in stock next year on their website.

I have this on my Maverick. Really like it. On a trip had rain and when opened with out the drain tube in place got water inside at the front. But now don't after putting the tube in place. Just get a little bit of water around the tail gate. The also have great customer service.

I just installed one on my new Maverick, and have to say the instructions are not very good, but the quality of the cover seems good. The instructions say to put a double strip of weatherstripping (included with the cover) on the front of the bed, but if you do that the unit is tilted and won't seal along the sides of the bed. So I deleted the weatherstripping and all seems well. There is a rubber seal on the front of the roller housing, so weatherstripping seemed redundant anyway. I haven't tested for watertightness yet. I see there are drain holes in the rear of the bed, so I'm not going to install any drain tubes unless I see they are necessary.

Just installed mine and agree the instructions are a bit rough.

I did use both sets of weather stripping but had someone else sit up on the canister edge while I tightened down the front clamps. Looks tight from the edges now.

There is one small spot on each side near the cab window corner that let's in a tiny bit of water. But it just runs to the drains by the front of the bed, not enough for me to work about.

I added some 90° fittings to route the drain tubes a bit better. (Saw another post about it)

I did loose alot of the bed rail range but leaving the rail lock between the front and middle clamps keeps it useful still. At $1200 for the synetrac pro cover and cross bars I'm very happy.

Looks good. Can you retract the cover when locked with the key and the tailgate is down?

You mean like try and force it open?

If you unlock you can move it but if it's locked down (key just stops you from being able to pop the locks up) then no it's pretty solid. Granted I haven't tried to push super hard to force it open.
