Over 21K miles my truck is 2.2 MPG off from the factory gauge.Just filled up. Truck said I was getting 42.1. I did the actual calculations....37.1. That number has been consistent, pretty much.
I adjusted my dashboard's computer to subtract 5% from each calculation so now the dash matches the pump within 0.5 mpg every time.Over 21K miles my truck is 2.2 MPG off from the factory gauge.
How do you adjust the computer to subtract 5%?I adjusted my dashboard's computer to subtract 5% from each calculation so now the dash matches the pump within 0.5 mpg every time.
Most recent tank:
Dash and pump within 0.1 MPG.
Follow these instructions MPG Adjustment in Engineering Mode from MaveRichardHow do you adjust the computer to subtract 5%?
Thank you, not so hard to fix this. I have something to do today.Follow these instructions MPG Adjustment in Engineering Mode from MaveRichard
The number is the percentage x10 so 1000 is 100%, 950 would be a 5% reduction to 95%, etc.
Comparing the computer to hand, I was running about 2.3 MPG high so I adjusted it down 946.
I went to Catholic school, learned the math there, but the residue of fear changed my computing skills.Over 21K miles my truck is 2.2 MPG off from the factory gauge.
For me, it has taken me about 3-4 months to learn how to drive the truck to get a high MPG. 1.st Always in Eco Mode (some will say Slippy mode)How are you guys getting such high mpg? I drive like granny, very few Highway miles, and have about 200 miles on my Mav total. MPG is 42.8 on the readout which is probably even high.
Eco mode always, fairly low speeds avg around 40-55 mpg on smaller NC roads. I don't even use a/c.
I did pretty well in our Prius even as it gets older hitting 50mpg every now and then but you guys are blowing it out of the water.
I survived Catholic school too, but I'm better at change then when I was younger.I went to Catholic school, learned the math there, but the residue of fear changed my computing skills.
I should be so fortunate.I survived Catholic school too, but I'm better at change then when I was younger.
200 miles is not long enough to learn how to drive your vehicle. Depending on your commute, different techniques can have different results. How are you guys getting such high mpg? Outside temp has a lot to do with it too. Having your AC or Heat on makes a difference.200 miles is not long enough to learn how to drive your vehicle. Depending on your commute, different techniques can have different results.
My commute is 3.1 miles with a lot of traffic lights - in the morning the truck's engine tends to run for the first mile or so just to get the hybrid system up to operating temperature, so mileage suffers since it is idling while at traffic lights.
At certain times in certain traffic conditions, driving like a Granny works. At other times on my commute, using the engine to get about 2-3 miles above your target speed, and then letting off the gas so the electric kicks in works.
Just practice.
Between 07/31/Hello: I've seen several posts stating my Maverick Hybrid got 45 MPG, 57 MPG and more. They back them up with pictures of their dash. The only way to have your REAL MPG is by filling up your tank and filling it up again, and doing the math with your total mileage. Anyone can post a picture of their dash for a short trip and have it show 40, 50, and more MPG. I can drive around my neighborhood, never going over 30 MPH, trying my best to stay on electric power and show a bogus dash picture. I've owned hybrids for 15 years. I can post a picture of my PriusV, going down hill and it says my MPG is 99 MPG. If you want to give an honest MPG value, give us a gas tank refill, do the math with your total miles driven and then state what kind of MPG you are getting. Don't go posting a 30 or 60 mile trip and post a picture. I just don't want some people thinking their hybrids are living up to standards.
Fuel mileage on my 2023 Hybrid Lariat using regular gas:So, just out of curiosity what is your mpg. I wholeheartedly agree with the method as the only accepted way for accurate mpg. I'm getting an eco so it won't apply to me - I'm expecting mid 20's since I'd rather get there and then relax lol.
