Installed the Mabett fender flares this morning. They look good and the install was pretty easy…maybe an hour and I took my time. The package had everything needed, including plastic clips and the removal tool. I was worried they wouldn’t look good with the OEM mud flaps, but they fit together well. I like that they are pretty subtle, just enough to cover my 255 tires. Only issue is, the driver side rear flare didn’t lay perfectly flat like the rest. I had to use a few drops of adhesive. The 3M tape wasn’t quite thick enough to get a good hold, even though I cleaned the fender with alcohol (this is not in the instructions but it should be). I did notice one other thing, the passenger side front flare had one less plastic fastener tab than the driver side, for no apparent reason. It doesn’t affect anything though, fits like a glove.

I'm curious if dirt or sand could get between fender and flare and scratch/damage the paint. They do look good.

Well, if that happens it happens, not really worried about it. Same could be said for the plastic along the rockers. And, I won’t have the truck long enough for rust to set in. 😊

I'm still on the fence about them for my truck, but I do like them on yours. I'll wait until they work out the kinks with the passenger side before I do anything.

Any issues with rubbing with that tire size?
Negative, no rubbing . It is tight for sure, but clears. No idea how it would do off-road. Only time my truck isn’t on pavement is on my in-laws gravel driveway 😁

Another person commented that theirs did have that missing tab. Maybe I got an early version.

Thanks for the info and pics. Your truck looks awesome! I've been looking for low profile flares that I can use with the OEM mud flaps already on my truck and it seemed from MTC member comments that other flares needed some customizing to get them to fit. I hope someone does an install video so I can see what I'm up against.

If you have the oem mud flaps like me, I can tell you that installing those was harder than installing the flares. With the flares, all you have to do is remove the same plastic fasteners and use the same screws and metal clips. The tabs on the flares slide right behind the flaps. It’s super easy. In the back, I didn’t even take off all the flap screws, just the top one, and loosened the bottom one. All the metal clips that you previously installed for the flaps stay in place….install the screws, the new plastic fasteners, and Bob’s your uncle. With the removatool that comes with the Mabett flares, the old plastic fasteners pop right off. Then pop the bottom of a new fastener (they come with the flares) through the flare and into the fender, and push in the top part. You will end up with 6 extra new plastic fasteners because the flap screws replace them.

Ok last note…for the 3M tape, pull the ends off of the plastic film and fold the ends out towards the exposed side of the flare. That way you can reposition the flare as needed without all the tape sticking to the fender. After you install the fasteners and screws, the tape film pulls right off from under the flare. Clean the fender with alcohol first…. That was actually my first step of the entire process 😁

After you do the first one, the next three are a piece of cake.

Hope that all makes sense lol.

Thanks. I really think I’m done now. Plus I’m pretty sure I have stuck every available piece of plastic you can get onto that truck lol.
not every piece...dont see the window deflectors...:p
