I got notice this past Thursday that my Maverick had been delivered to the dealership and was ready for pickup.
Heck! I was expecting later this week! I had to move some money around and thought I was going to have to wait until this week regardless, but my Dart decided to continue its electric gremlin issues so I went in Saturday to get it.
Very easy process, no markups, just had to be patient with a busy dealership that was expecting me later.
PROS:
Yesterday, Sunday, I loaded up my Ren Faire gear and took her out. My Dart already handled the parking field without issue and the added height etc of even the FWD hybrid did even better. It's not an off-roader, but it feels more than capable of handling my urban truck needs.
And it's a great ride! Comfortable, a little more sensitive in the steering, but easily adjusted to.
I'm used to almost wearing my almost-compact Dart. So much more room and headroom. The seats are more comfortable, and the XLT Lux package's 8 way electric seats don't hurt. Audio is fine, the bluetooth audio sounds way better
The dial will take some getting used to; I'm accustomed to resting my right hand on the shifter for the dual dry clutch on the Dart.
Already I'm averaging about 10 MPG better than my Dart.
I'm loving the Atlas Blue. I've had almost exclusively white cars since about 2000. Ironically, the last blue vehicle I had was a full-size 1980 Ford Van.
CONS:
None, really, on a first impression.
QUIBBLES:
I didn't expect the heated seat and steering wheel to engage when I used the remote start last night. It took a minute on the road before I was at a long enough stop to find and turn those off. I don't need those features, but I couldn't get remote start without the Lux package.
I picked her up with just under 20 miles. Can't wait to use her more! Already helped my morning; I have a really pissy client to deal with first thing, but driving on-site with my new little Maverick helped my mood!
