OEM mud Flaps beware😭🤬

Some members of my Facebook group installed Mabett Mud Flaps which hinde site are better over all.
I started looking into them and reading .... OEM look nice but with time and movement scuff the paint and in my case minor but still.
So I ordered a set from Amazon and installed using the OEM hardware over push connectors...
If you go with OEM I'd suggest using some kind of paint protection film.
Which I had thought about that.

I put protective tape between the flap and the paint when I installed them.

Thank you for the heads up. I have the Ford factory installed mud flaps. I will take a look to see if there is any paint issues.

I ordered aftermarket mudflaps,that fit like Ford's.my ram has this type on for 13 years and doesn't seem to be an issue with rust at least.on a side note,with all the plastic cladding on the Maverick I'm second guessing my decision to install the mudflaps, especially on the back,there's no paint to protect!

Thin paint strikes again

I went with the RokBlokz. The hardware is garbage and they are overpriced. But, they cover the gap on the driver's side rear and they don't rub the outer parts, so I guess that's a good thing.

Those Mabett ones look aggressively curved inwards. Kind of odd. I'm sure it could be remedied with a little heat though. I had the same issue with ones I got on a previous Crosstrek to the point they would rub the front tires on full turn. Granted, I can't remember the last vehicle I have ran stock size tires on

Yea I should have as well ford cheap ass didn't included and didn't really think about ...
Mabett fit nicely .

There is a Tool around these parts that says I installed them wrong...
Beware lol
Installed wrong wow.... set holes, set directions molded for the application. Outside of added the protective film that doesn't come with them nothing I could do...

Cooper are awesome
More tread depth more aggressive look awesome and not an insure on mileage ...
