Bed Upgrade Plans (Tell me if I'm making a terrible mistake)

My current plans (since the in-stock Maverick did not have a spray in liner).

Step 1: Aftermarket spray-in liner from the dealer recommended vendor
Step 2: Roll-n-Lock M Series Tonneau Cover (it looks owner installable without significant skill requirements)

Am I making reasonable choices here? Are there better options?

I had 100% planned to do a spray-in bed liner but went a different way in the end. As of now, really happy that I did. I installed the Muslogy truck bed mat (fit perfectly) and a TipTop soft trifold. Used my FordPass Points for two bed cubbies and the tailgate pad. Under the bed mat I put a layer of Fluid Film to prevent rusting. On both the tri-fold and bed mat I sprayed on 303 Aerospace UV protector. All-in, I have spent less than $275 and it looks absolutely great. Figure I should get many years of use out of this. I like to hunt (hogs and deer) so the truck bed mat actually made more sense for me than the spray-in (should be MUCH easier to clean blood off of).

When installing the tri-fold, I used plumbers putty for the "crease" and added an extra strip of rubber seal next to the back window (I would swear that all Maverick tri-fold covers are 1/2" too short for some reason including the factory ones). I fully expect to get "some" water in the bed but bought two of the 40 gallon totes from Sam's Club that are currently on sale. They fit perfectly with a 2x4 cross member in the back bed slot.

I’ve had several steel bodied fords that I’ve just used the hard roll up tonneau and the rubber bed mat. I use my trucks for work, and although the beds get scratched, I’ve never had issues with rust. Btw, I install the covers myself too. IF you ever get tired of the scratches, the SIBL can be added anytime.

I figured the SIBL first so I didn't have to take the cover out for that.

Depends on what you are planning to use it for. If you are getting a cover, maybe you do not need a spray in liner, maybe a bed mat will do?? There are plenty of good ones out there.

Seems like reasonable choices.
On a Ranger and Sport Trac I used a bed mat and Access roll up cover. Never had problems with excessive scratches. I tended to throw a tarp in the back whenever hauling something messy like branches or mulch. Makes clean out much easier too.
On my Maverick when it gets built, I plan to put in a rough country bed mat and Truxedo Pro X15.
I'd get the Roll-N-Lock if I didn't have to live with 6 months of ice and snow. I've never owned one, but experience with doors frozen shut tells me it's likely to freeze solid.

Bed Liner (Line-X) in place. I also had the local Line-X place install the Rock-n-Roll M series retractable. One of the rail clamps just won't sit in right, so while they were able to get it working, it binds enough towards the liftgate as to take work to move. The shop is going to contact the manufacturer for a replacement clamp this week, so the only real drawback is the 80 minute drive each way...

I have the spray in bed liner that was done by my ford dealer in both my F-150 and in the wifes mavrick. I am very happy with the quality of the spray and the work. I purchased the roll-n lock Tonneau cover for the F-150 and the Mavrick, I love it on both. I did not do the install as the dealer I bought mine from installed for free and gave me an extended warranty on them if I had them install it. It looks like it would be a very easy install though.
