Order ID?

Sorry, but here’s a newbie Q. On opening day, I placed an order for a MY24 XLT. My local Ford dealer pretty much sucks rocks and I cant really get any info from them. They told me I def have an order in the system, but I wouldn’t be the first guy to get stiffed I’m sure. The only thing I have is an email from FoMoCo with an “Order ID” number Any help on what that actually means? Cheers!

The order number is whatever the dealer called it when they entered it. You should get an email from Ford Motor Company with a little tracking bar that says Order Confirmed with a picture of the truck.

if you got your email from Ford with order ID then your order was placed.
if you really want to make sure, you can always call Ford Marketing

you really need to get a copy of the COVP from your dealer.

Thanks gang. I don’t know a COVP is, but I have build and price sheet from the dealer that has the options, prices, basically all the things.

Well then you should be set. You can ask your dealer to provide proof of COVP approval for your order but this is something that most dealerships will not do.

There are two numbers on your build sheet or DORA as it is sometimes called that are the most important if you want to use Fords customer service to check the status of your order.

I can't find my Maverick one at the moment but here is one for my Mach-E. The two number you need are the four digit order code and the six digit sales code located at the top right.

You should be all set if you got the email from ford, just don't expect a bunch of updates.
next email will be a build date in about a year or so. then all you have to do is hope the dealer don't sell your truck or change the selling price. Good luck.
