Like how to fake your emissions test and get fined millions of dollars when you get caught?
Still number two car company in the world.

And when you say millions you mean billions.

As long as you're profitable who gives a shit if you run your business with scams and lies. That is modern capitalism I guess.
Business is not for the weak

I would be willing to put a small wager on this ( I am not rich, and don't gamble more than I can lose ):
When they originally decided to stop scheduling hybrids till further notice it was likely due to someone asking why would they schedule hybrids which didn't have the ok to buy and would end up sitting and waiting when they could instead use those parts for non-hybrids which they could ship and would end up going out to customers.

When the fuss started, someone decided we have to show them that the hybrids are not delayed and we are building them. Now someone has realized that while they can build them, they can't sell them and sure they can probably find a place to stack them till they get that ok to buy, but why.

build what you can sell now... get those orders out of the way, it's not like those of us with Hybrids will really have to wait that much longer since they would end up just sitting there waiting if they built them now. Better for them to build what they can ship and when they can ship the Hybrids they can switch more of the production over to hybrids and catch up.

"Lot rot" is not from sitting In the weather (which is really hot in Hermosillo). "Lot rot" is from not being started or moved for a long time. It affects the bearings, belts, seals, etc.
Maybe I’m just optimistic/positive-thinker, but I doubt the trucks will sit long enough for it to be a worry.

I'm always amused with the desert rot and dirt mountain people who complain that the vehicles are sitting a few weeks, even a few months. So what??? They sit on dealer lots for weeks and months sometimes. I have a 2002 Explorer Sport-Trac that I bought new, so I've had it roughly 19 years, guess what, it's never been in a garage in all that time and it's just fine. That's 19 years of Midwest, rain, snow, hail, sleet, ice, etc. and its fine.
19 years of sleet, ice etc.... I would check your undercarriage Those years of exploders are notorious for rust especially it it was exposed road salt garaged or not.
A car from the south west sitting in the desert sun will not have the same corrosion over any car that is exposed to 4 season weather or cars that are near the beach salt air is just as bad and that is 12 months out of the year the car is exposed to. This is especially true in the type of steel used in the fabrication of the vehicle. Ford did use a lot of cheaper steel with higher levels of carbon in the exploders and I am sure the sport track is made of the same steel. There is however UV damage that is accelerated in the desert though. But those are superficial and fade colors and warp plastics. then again this is not a toyota so I am not concerned of it of cheap materials... Did I just say that Ford doesn't use cheap materials waaaa  AS usual I am sure this will come back and bite me as my Maverick is a thought on a spreadsheet somewhere.

EPA could be the cause of the delay of the OKTB for hybrid, but it could easily be a cover Ford is just allowing to happen. There could always be a missing chip they need to finish the hybrids. Ford was shipping some F150s without start stop chip due to shortages before, but it could always be a charge control chip or something hybrid needs that they don't have.

Others have noted this, but my understanding is that Ford can't ship any hybrids until they get the EPA ratings. During yesterday's live chat, the Ford moderator said their understanding is that the ratings will be available in a week or two. In the meantime, hybrids are being built but cannot ship. I just found out yesterday that the hybrid truck I ordered is in production ... and the window sticker makes clear that it can't be shipped.

Ford Maverick Hybrids delivery dates being removed and reverted to N/A (unscheduled) sticker

As an aircraft mechanic the desert was the worst place to keep a plane. We hated the desert.
Well the military does store hundreds of aircraft here in Tucson because of the climate, however they're sealed to keep dust and animal intrusions to a minimum.

They preserve idle aircraft in the desert. No doubt a better environment than tornado alley and repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
After careful preparation to shield the interiors and other sensitive components from the sun. Desert UV is very damaging to most rubbers and plastics, and if they are full of fluids, its not great to have vehicles sitting idle for months if that really is the case.
