Ford Maverick Pre-Season Hunting Prep IMG_0472

Went out to a local farm this afternoon to get a couple trail cameras out. THIS is why I lifted my truck and run 245/70s. I'm never going to do any hardcore off-roading but even on overgrown two-tracks the extra clearance is very valuable.

The AWD system did great shifting power where needed while crawling up a fairly steep grade, and the Hill Descent Control is a really nice feature on the way back down.

The Gear Pods in my Leitner rack are perfect for storing my pack and other gear.

I also threw in a couple photos of the newly installed Air Lift 1000 bladders in my rear coil springs. In these photos I was parked on uneven ground and you can see one side is more compressed than the other. I think the Air Lift does a good job of smoothing out the ride and providing a little extra support. I notice an improvement even on everyday driving on pavement.

How are you liking the Eibach springs? Still worth the $$$?

I like them. I have nothing other than stock to compare them to but for the price I'm very satisfied. It's only like $350 for the Eibach springs which is a fraction of the integrated coilover kits.

Thanks for sharing. I've been dragging my feet with getting mine on due to warranty concerns and the labor cost...something like $800-1000 near me and I'm not sure if I wanna do it myself.

I paid $967 for install of springs, alignment, and install of new tires and aftermarket wheels.

It's a truck. It's fun. It ain't cheap.

Honestly I’m really digging your mav. I plan on copying a lot of your mods whenever I get it

For the springs, what the difference between just the springs and a whole lift kit?

Thanks! The springs ARE a whole lift kit. It's just that the Eibach springs are designed to work with the OEM struts and shocks. But you still are lifting the whole truck 2 inches front and back.

Other kits come with replacement struts with coilover springs already on them for the front and also replacement shocks for the rear. I believe some of these allow for adjustment of tension even after installation. And some people are also adding sub frame spacers in the rear I believe to reduce CV axle angle.

I can't really speak on any of those options personally other than to say they are far more expensive than the springs alone. I'm sure they are good products but the Eibach springs fit my needs and accomplish my purposes. And now that I've paid to have them installed and added the Air Lift bladders I'm in no rush to expend additional time and money experimenting with other options. I've had these on for several thousand miles now with zero issues. Ride is fine and CV axles all look good.

Thanks for the info! Learned something new today

Now I just need Ford to build my truck

Looks great! I picked Cactus Grey for my hunting buggy too. Wait until it gets a couple of layers of dust, if it will be almost invisible 😉

Cactus Gray actually hides dirt really well. And I had a 5-year ceramic coating applied shortly after purchasing. That helps it clean up really easy too.

If you don’t mind me asking what does a five year application cost.

About a grand. This includes prepping the vehicle, a full paint correction/polish (which isn't much on a brand new truck TBH) and the application of the ceramic coating to all exterior surfaces.

The coating I got came with a full warranty from the installer. I will say that I am very happy with the coating. The truck looks fantastic. Water beads up like crazy and even when it's dirty, it is easy to clean simply by hitting with a foam cannon and wiping off with a soft, microfiber mitt. I plan to keep this truck looking like new and relatively scratch free for many years.

If you are interested, I documented the entire coating process in this video:
