When the C8 Corvette came out, it was on the cheap side for a vette. Chevy seeing its popularity increased the MSRP the very next year. I have a weird feeling that the maverick will to. Especially with the Hybrid AWD confirmed for production now.

Increase the MSRP to what? As of now, I'd consider the Maverick to be underpriced. If they changed the MSRP to start at $24,995 instead of $19,995 they'd still have the best value on the market.

Price creep is inevitable but I don't think it will be like a Corvette.

Where has it been confirmed?
NHTSC site for safety. They list the 2wd hybrid, the 2wd eco, the 4wd eco and a 4wd hybrid. That simply means ford is testing a 4wd hybrid.....its not ford saying yes we are, its ford actually testing one.

Like the vette in that the very next model year had a noticeable increase. It was so that the first year buyers were able to turn around and make a tidy profit.

Honestly if you've ordered at MSRP right now, you'll probably be able to make a profit immediately as is.. but that begs the question, what will you replace it with?

Personally I intend the Maverick to be in our garage for a very long time.

Oh as do i......but I will never argue with a truck that immediately appreciates in value....I also think all of us with orders are smart and beat that to the punch.

I just hope that the flood of new orders (now that the embargo has been lifted and more people know about it) don't push all of us early adopters to the back of the line.

I think they will increase the price, as well as increase the Ranger price over current gen, when the next one comes out.

Wait till the EV Maverick comes out (it's gotta be in the pipeline)

This is spot on - I think the aggressive pricing is part of the attempt by Ford to move to a build-to-order model. Part of that needs to be that the vehicles are priced well up front, so that incentives and rebates and those sorts of things are no longer part of the equation. The other side of the coin to that in our current market is of course dealers not marking up customer orders (go ahead and do that with stock, but doing that on retail orders is just bad business, primarily for Ford and also for dealers that can't apparently see they are cutting off their nose to spite their face).

This is why the Santa Cruz looks overpriced in comparison - it is priced in the old model, where there should be $5K in discounts. Of course, in this market the inverse is happening, but that also won't always be the case, things will return to normal (even if it takes a few years). Ford is trying to make a new normal, and I think the Maverick is the first step.

Yeah, I agree the price will increase. The Bronco too; $28,500 will probably become $34,500 (or more).
