Hi. Excited to be getting xlt built week of July 18… question I have, I was quoted a price from my dealer, and am wondering if any have had experience of them changing ( increasing) the price when picking up the truck.

Yes, Autonation in Corpus Christi are shit bags, and blamed Ford for the increases and charged me the increase on my '22 from ordering to delivery, which was just over $2k. This is after showing the memo above, which they just weaseled and made excuses on.

I fought with it, called every number at Ford including one that would not talk to me because I was a customer not a dealer, and the ONLY one that helped was someone at the Farm Bureau hotline, she called the dealer only number on my behalf and tried to help, but essentially said the same thing every other Ford contact said " It is up to the dealer to honor any price protections". In my experience, the reps you talk to may care, but Ford couldn't give 2 shits, and does not empower anyone you can reach as a customer to keep a dealer from screwing you to mark up your custom order.

I asked for more on my trade in and got it, so it offset it a bit, but was still rather unhappy.

If you aren't prepared to walk, be creative on how to offset the increase, cause a shitty dealer won't blink twice telling you to take a hike if you don't like the price. (ESPECIALLY since you ordered a Hybrid and those are WAY harder to get)

If you have a build date, my best advice is once it is built, go in to get paperwork completed early. This buys you the transit time to make sure if they are doing anything outside of your initial agreement, and figure out what you can do to correct it before the truck is on lot.

I hope you have an honest dealer, and everything is what they promised. The good news, is manufacturing is starting to catch up. When I bought my Truck the dealers lot was empty, now it is full so the dealer should have less leverage, and be more concerned about keeping you as a long term customer as the car market gets closer to normal.

Funny enough my dealership refuses to honor the original price even after I sent that. They did however throw in spray in bed liner though to off set the cost. Lmao

This is why you need to get a signed Dora sheet from the dealer when ordering stating the price with price protection will be guaranteed, no dealer add ons and no dealer market adjustment. If they won't do it go to an honest dealer.

I had to pay the current (higher) window sticker price plus the extra $100 D&D too!. But my dealer said they will reimburse me when they get reimbursed from Ford (45 days per the notice). It's only been 36 days for me, so I will ask about the refund when I place my order for a MY24 Hybrid.

There you go. Yeah I thought about fighting it harder but figured the SIBL makes up for it so it’s all good. Just hope they stick their word come delivery lol

Funny, I had this, and suddenly the guy " wasn't a sales manager when he signed it, so he wasn't authorized to promise that".

What was my choice, fight it ? Ain't worth the effort, just never going back to Autonation again.

I spoke to my dealer the other day. He said they won't know price until they receive an invoice from Ford. They did give me a tentative out the door back in Sept? With all the pricing games Ford is playing, who knows if they will stand by protected pricing? Roll the dice!

Upon delivery late June 2023 I too paid additional $480 base price AND $100 dealer doc fee increases from list price on original signed order form (Sept. 2022). I also distinctly remember the sales agent verbally assuring me that no matter what, the order form price IS the final price at delivery (no order changes were made). Before I go back to dealer to request refund, I wasn't sure if DD fee increase applies, not clear from posted price protection doc.
P.s. I also fell for the b.s. that I "have to" decide on extended warranties and service plans before I drive off the lot, otherwise options are few and more expensive. Only to easily learn through basic online research that comparable plans straight from Ford protect or granger Ford are half the price. $75 cancellation fee wasted because of my ignorance and gullibility.
Again, are DD fees also price protected?
Love the xl hybrid, disgusted by car sales

You are probably going to be stuck with the DD increase. Prior to COVID, I was able to with a dealer to have the DD reduced on the price of the vehicle. My current dealer won't budge on the $799 as he said it is printed on the invoice. I asked him about rolling back the doc fee on the sales price but they won't budge. They operate under 'Christian' principles. In a pigs eye!
