Farm Bureau Discount - Post Purchase

Dealer would not attempt to do the Farm Bureau Discount with the MY Transition Private Offer (it was already in the ford system, but they wouldn't attempt both, and they did not put it on the paper work).

It is documented that a lot of people have received both.

So, I was planning on submitting it post-purchase on the ford/farm bureau site.

I didn't see any reason why not.

Before I submit, I was wondering if anyone had any luck with this method or any advice?

If not, I'll proceed and share my results.

FB rules say it is only valid at time of purchase. Dealer can accept or refuse most offers/rebates.

There literally is a button to push that says "I already purchased". I contacted the farm bureau ford person. She said you have to go through your dealer anyway. If you have a good relationship with them, I say it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the info. I’m afraid dealer tried to keep it for themselves. So this wouldn’t serve much purpose.

In case anyone wants to hear it right from Ford, here is how they phrased it when I asked.

" You are able to redeem your certificate after purchase.

You have 120 days after purchase to give your certificate number to your dealer. They will link it to the VIN of the vehicle purchased.

Ford will mail a check to you within 4-6 weeks.

My bad . Yes, my dealer made good on it and Ford mailed me a check.

That is good Ford allowed a window to submit your certificate. I guess people were complaining and they listened. Good work Ford!

My dealer said that the FB rebate was incompatible with the X-Plan.

On my latest buyer's order they took off the X-Plan savings and put on the $500 FB rebate.

I actually don't qualify for the X-Plan anyway so I don't know why they had it on my original buyer's order.

I actually saved more with the $500 FB rebate than the $304.90 X-Plan would have been.

X-Plan also caps doc fees at $100 (if your dealer doesn't violate the program rules claiming they can do whatever they want...), which in some cases can add hundreds to the total savings. In your case, that may not have mattered.
