Popping and fried egg noise

I have a 2023 Lariat with the luxury package and 360. I heard a loud pop that sounded like a balloon popping and then a noise that sounded like eggs frying for about 5 seconds. I stopped and couldn’t find anything visible.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Did you open the hood? Look for liquids/oils that are in places they shouldn't be (especially the underside of the hood). If you see any, get it towed to the dealer for service.

I actually looked behind the seat because the noise came from the back.

Any burning electronics smell? I've read a story or 2 of the inverter going out. Try plugging something in the outlet behind the center console and see if it works?

Good point for the OP. The pop sound could have been an electrolytic capacitor exploding, and the sizzle could be more electronics dying due to either the cap popping or from the same root cause that caused the capacitor to pop.

Lariat Lux... AFAIR this includes the B&O sound system with the sub, so also check to see if the sub is working.

Did you happen to have a Coleman grill and an egg in the same space? Also, if so, was the grill plugged in?

My thought was a speaker, but the dealer would know more than us for sure

There was no smell. I have never used the inverter before but will test it.

I do have the B&O sound system. It works but I will listen to each speaker individually to see if they are all working.

It was a joke, but Silver23 could be on to something with regards to the battery. Either way be careful….. electricity is not always your friend
