Relatively simple turf repair jobs but needed a yard of dirt, couple bags of cover and some seed. Goose took it like a champ, gotta give her credit. Exactly the kind of use this City truck was built for. Threw it in tow/haul mode and away I went. The powertrain really didn’t blink an eye at the weight. Sure she revved higher than normal but there was plenty of chooch, even up smaller hills. I was ginger careful on the brakes but those held well too. Only challenge really was that suspension and squat. Admittedly a yard of topsoil is right at, if not over the 1500lb limit (depending on how wet it is) though so all in all, job well done Goose.

I’m old and now decently whooped, someone pass the beer

That’s what I like to see — a truck being a truck!

I enjoy seeing all the mods people are doing. … But I really love seeing a Maverick get dirty with work.

Thanks for sharing.

This is the first of many. Gonna take boatloads of yard waste to the mulching place, whole bunch of stones and masonry work, and LOTS of sand to smooth out the yards. Extra pumped

I didn't have the courage you did and hauled 1/2 yard of fairly dry top soil twice. Here's a photo with 1/2 yard on the pickup. I appreciate seeing your photos, I was wondering how I would have faired if I'd put the entire load on at once.

Seeing your empty bed picture reminded me of the job it was to try to get the dirt and gravel out of the tailgate after the job was over. Later on I removed the panel cover on the inside of the tailgate to try to further flush out the mud and gravel from inside the tailgate. I finally got it where there was very little mud coming out of the tailgate. Next time I'm going to try something different to keep that from happening in the first place, maybe a tarp over the gap between the bed and tailgate.

Then one other thing, mine is the EB, I put it in tow/haul to head home and I felt like the transmission was doing some odd things and finally switched it back to normal. I can't remember what I read elsewhere on this message board explaining what I felt, but others experienced what I did and switched back to normal. Thanks for your post.

Cleaned up the bed with broom, then leaf blower, and finally power washer. Those really made cleanup easy. The junk between tailgate and bed was indeed the most annoying portion but still NBD

Here's another dirty one. Bulk is MUCH cheaper the bags.

I know about the old part. Makes it tough sometimes. I just hit 76 and had to slow down a bit. Up until this year, I averaged about 60 hours per week working, but now spend more time enjoying life a bit and playing around with my Maverick. Great job on the haul. Put it to the test and it will respond properly.

Yup, use it like a truck. Couple tailgate sratches but it's black and touches up easy. Couple loads of mulch. Plus other stuff. Had to come in at an angle so the bucket would almost fit without too much overflow falling out.

If you are doing alot of that make sure you rinse the hell out of those bed caps. That stuff gets in everywhere.

I like the idea of backing the truck to where the mulch is needed.
I hate double handling that much mulch.
Good use of a truck.
Mine should be here in July.

Oh, look at the cute little yard cart... it so goes with the cute little truck...

:) (wifey has one also)

I needed two yards of topsoil for garden beds last week; borrowed son's RAM dually. I wasn't about to haul over the mountain in my truck(lette)! I guess the funny part is his dually is a big diesel stick. I got back in the mav and first, there was no clutch pedal, then ... the silly little shifter knob. It took me a few miles to relearn how to drive the mav.

Oh yeah. Brush, leaf blower, followed by power washer. She's clean again. Spray in liner for the win
