Anyone install tailgate lettering? Wonder what sheen of black looks best.

I have not installed mine yet...they are chrome outlined in black. Black outlined in chrome would be interesting but I have never seen it. Check out Etsy...and I recommend the domed letters,they look cool!

First off, thanks to everyone on this site. All the info, posts, suggestions, pics ect have been super helpful. After 557 days waiting, I can finally say i am a member of the Maverick (Area 51) club.

While waiting i ordered Tux Mats, a stubby antenna, and tailgate damper and have finally been able to install them. Next up is bed lighting, tailgate lettering, and a bed extender.

I picked up my Area 51 hybrid this past weekend and loving it so far. This little truck has exceeded my expectations. My only gripe so far is that i notice EVERY single fingerprint on the mavericks paint...I feel like this thing attracts fingerprints (atleast from my 8 year old) like a magnet. Would a ceramic coat or maybe a good waxing fix this?

I have the official black metal ones from Ford Accessories…kinda wish they were more matte after I installed the tailgate black appliqué….The letters are so shiny they look almost chrome most of the time…Which is fine, except that I put so much other matte black aspects to my look.

Well, just depends on your over all goals I suppose…They still look great, and metal is def the way I’d go…If you were looking for a more sheen-y look they’d be perfect…I just didn’t take that into consideration as I ordered a bunch of junk during my 19 month wait. lol
