MEANING OF PER DIEM RELIEF

I just checked on my Maverick delivery progress and it is in St, Louis MO. on a flatbed car. The message also said it is out of storage and stopped per diem relief. Does anyone know what this message means? Is this where they switch to traveling from rail to road? I'm not sure how to track it if this is the case.

Can anyone please help?

If rail car was in storage for a reason related to it needed to be put into storage and not being able to be used until problem is fixed the railroad will not be charged the per diem fee for car. Rail car has been released for use and the prr diem fee is reactivated. Has nothing to do with you other than your transport time was increased somewhat.

Glad I found this thread, I was concerned about this as well. My tracking has been saying the same thing all day, in St Louis too. Bound for Rochester, NY.

Does this mean that it is back on the rails moving now? Or just that it could leave St Louis?

Sounds like you and the OP, Bob, may have your Mavs on the same rail car headed for NY. Now all you have to worry about is why that rail car was in storage and probably in need of repair?? Sure, hope they got it fixed ok. It's a long way to NY>

Sure glad it wasn't part of a derailment!!! I feel for those that lost theirs a month or two ago to derailments and fires!

According to the other threads I have read, this is in Chicago which is a major switching hub for the trains. I have also called UP and it estimated it would leave 12pm May 10, but others have said it could be there longer than that.

Fingers crossed it's just until tomorrow!

Tried using UP phone contact but wasn't recognizing the railcar number I used for NS.

I find that the UP automated system is really bad at understanding me.

But I still try lol called again just now, estimated to be delivered to Buffalo on May 15th @ 2pm which afaik is as far as the train will take it.
