My work requires me to be away from home for upwards to a month at a time. Whether I leave my 23 Maverick hybrid in my garage, driveway or airport, I’m concerned about the battery going dead or “deep sleep”. Any recommendations based on personal use, on a portable jump box that can be stored in one of the compartments under the back seat? Under $200.00 and portable.

This is what I bought. A bit large, but I like the ability to air tires also.
About $90 at Sam's Club

I drive 60 miles round trip per day to work, and quite a bit otherwise. For reference, I've had my Maverick about 14 months and it has almost 26,000 miles on it. I say that to support my statement that "it doesn't sit much". That said, I often have to jump start it with a Noco GB40 after unlocking manually with a key (completely dead).
I wouldn't own the Maverick Hybrid without one.

I have the smallest/cheapest noco (haven't had to actually use it). Since you're not actually having to turn over a starter, you should be able to get by with the minimum amount of amperage I'd think

Price is nuts now, but I have loved having it more than expected. Just finished 3 weeks of camping. I have a jackery and it stayed home. Found out this is very compatible with hybrid battery charging going (backwards into unit) so I have two small batteries in parallel with this setup. It can only keep going on its own for 5 hours at 12 watts steady but joined to small 12v battery in our hybrid it can run all night and still not be in danger for AGM batteries being too low with the engine OFF. They recharge together evenly and the pair is full before an hour elapsed. With only one extra ICE cycle from normal. The 120v inverter part has no problems powering my tv, roku, laptop, ipad, ereader, very bright camping lamp and 12v fridge ( using 120v plug ) at same time. Most of that list has its own battery so it’s usually just a top off charge.
There are many options but consider a old school lead acid battery unit since you can’t feed a lithium backwards to charge it.

I have one of those small lithium ones and it has started both my 6.2L V8 and 6.8L V10 without problem. Holds a charge for a long time as well.

Second insight is the rapid life span destruction of lithium batteries left in a hot truck even for a few hours. There has been many improvements on protecting lithium battery before sold/use but fade by design to gain rated capabilities. If you buy a lithium jumper avoid cycles, if you want it for emergencies years later. Mavericks will require multiple cycles so don’t expect the lithium battery to be useful around 2 year mark if left inside truck summer days.
The battery will appear full but be unable to push enough power to charge the super capacitor for the actual ‘jump’
That is way I choose AGM super heavy jump box. Its lifespan is not damaged in hot summer heat.
But the bump needed to the 12v hybrid is so small, pick the cheapest jump pack if going lithium.

Would it fit under the backseat of a Maverick?

lithium, that's what all the EV cars use right  and you're in the Texas heat

I have the older version of this, without the LCD screen, also purchased at Costco a while back on sale. It is what I used to start my hybrid when I had that no crank/no start issue, before getting it resolved at the dealer. The leads are JUST long enough to reach the POS terminal and the neg jumper post Ford wants you to clamp onto.

As has been mentioned, since there's no starter motor to turn over, the hybrid doesn't require a lot to get it to start, assuming all else is well. I don't think you need to spend a ton, nor do you need anything huge in order to have solid peace of mind.

Edit to add: after several jumps using my jumper, I still had full bars of power in it--that's how little juice it takes, and why I don't think you need to throw a ton of money at this issue.

OP, if you park your Maverick in the garage while you're away for a long time, why not use a wall plug-in battery tender, instead?

Parking in my garage is hit or miss. I restore pinball machines as a hobby and if I have a couple of pinball machines in the garage, my truck and my wife’s Escape stay outside much to her chagrin. It’s hit or miss because I never know when I’ll come across a pinball machine in some old bar or someone is trying to get rid off. So a potable jump box is probably a better option.
