A body shop in Temecula replaced the frame under a Silverado when it was damaged. Unbolted everything and bolted it onto a brand new frame. Still less than totaling the vehicle. It took a while, but was used as a 'time-filler' when other activities allowed a pause in more quickly turnable jobs. Probably one of the best put-together Silverados after the work was done. Same shop replaced the whole roof(and maybe hood) on a Jeep paid for by insurance. Perhaps the decision is based on how the estimate is written.

The body on the frame truck is much easy to fix. I posted part of the manual, on how to replace the maverick frame rail on the first page. This job needs a lot of disassembly and assembly for Maverick...

they name all cars XL. When I left my car at the body shop, they count it also as XL, but I have larial. They first give me proposals for XL, After my correction, they gave me proposals for LAriat, a couple thousand more..

Visited a tire shop today to check wheel alignments. Weels are fine, but after I told them I had an accident they noticed the bed shifted a very little to the right. I think I can live with it, I didn't notice it myself.

If you look from the back distance difference between the tires and the wheel ark like about half an inch.

After I got car I had check engine. Read a lot info about it. Almost decided to go to dealer....

Insurance didn't report a total loss for my car to DMV. So I make an appointment with ford to do some recalls and maybe maintenance( As long as car has warranty)

not yet. I tried to register my car yesterday, but DMV said the car is not reported as salvage, so they cant register it. If I come to the Ford dealer before the report, I will have free service with recalls.

So far I did for the registration:
- Light and Brakes alignment - $200
- Smog Check - $50
- VIN Check

If you're lucky maybe they will never report it as a total loss. Never have to go through the rebuild title

anyway, I decided not to fix the frame. To pull up the frame heat needs to be applied to the metal. Heat will change the characteristics of the metal. In its current condition frame still do 80% of its work in the accident.

BTW. A guy from the shop where I did alignments said he always has full coverage on all hid salvage cars. He uses AAA insurance. Maybe I just switch my insurance.

No. Just need to pass the tests I passed and I am ready to go. They dint make my car a total loss officially, so I still use my previous full coverage insurance.
