The body on the frame truck is much easy to fix. I posted part of the manual, on how to replace the maverick frame rail on the first page. This job needs a lot of disassembly and assembly for Maverick...A body shop in Temecula replaced the frame under a Silverado when it was damaged. Unbolted everything and bolted it onto a brand new frame. Still less than totaling the vehicle. It took a while, but was used as a 'time-filler' when other activities allowed a pause in more quickly turnable jobs. Probably one of the best put-together Silverados after the work was done. Same shop replaced the whole roof(and maybe hood) on a Jeep paid for by insurance. Perhaps the decision is based on how the estimate is written.
