Thank you for your sacrifice.

And that's terrible. Though, those are for the ugly bushwacker style ones. Wonder how the slim ones hold up.

Sure about that?

That sarcasm aside, let's assume they dont damage your truck.... you still really don't. What you're paying for is the cost of the mold not the part itself, which is at best a few dollars of material. The molds probably cost them around 30k. If that's true, they have to sell only around 50 to break even, everything past that is massive profit at 667 bucks a set.

All for profit, but they're selling thousands of these sets, easily. Probably one of the most wanted accessories for the Maverick, I'm sure. I'd heavily bet a company will produce something nearly identical within a year for significantly less.
Yes, I am sure. And everything you posted here is conjecture. But, none of that matters. Flares don't scratch paint. Poor installation does. Now that could be for any number of reasons, including the parts being molded poorly. I won't guess without more information. Ford sells accessories, but they are hardly in the accessory business. Bushwacker and similar companies will sell way more than Ford itself will. If you don't like their price, don't buy the product. Don't complain about a companies desire to make a profit. Just go somewhere else.

The slim ones might fit better and not have the rubbing issues. But the other photo of the fender itself on the arch that looked so bad after removal? That will still happen. That is why these much like a bra for the hood are terrible for the car long term. It traps dirt and moisture. And if you live in a hot climate having that shit behind the plastic when it gets hot will cook the paint also.

I've used EZFlares on my last two trucks, love em, planning them for my hybrid if it ever gets scheduled. I always use the smaller ones, they come in two sizes, I think the larger one is just too much. They're also crazy reasonable and last forever. I think it's a more subtle look, not over the top like a lot of them are.

That's way too wide for nothing. Makes the stock tires look even smaller than they already are. Wish a 3rd party would make one half that width.

I'm looking for some feedback. I love the look of fender flares, I think the added black elements really make the truck look nice. I'm wondering if flares on a hybrid would be considered silly? I usually associate these with off-road applications, but I'd like to put some on my hybrid. I'm looking for the lowest profile possible, as it is more for looks. What do you think?
What Hybrids can't have fender flares?

These ones? Fitment looks a little wonky,

Ford Ranger offers fender flares that are smaller and fit into that ridge in the arch... All of the available ones for the Maverick are big, fitting over that ridge in the arch... dwarfing the tires...

Hopefully someone will produce arches that are smaller like the ones availabe on Escapes and Rangers...

I was actually thinking of using a foam roller and plasti dip that comes in the can to layer on some fender protection.

If I tackle it i'll let you know!

Those are the large ones, I always use the small ones. Go on their website, they've got quite a few pics of the various kinds. I have a pic from my old Ranger, just not sure how to load it here? Lemme try...

SIDE NOTE...

If you decided to use stick on style rubber flares, that ADHESION PROMOTER stuff goes a LONG WAY!

Adhesion promoter from 3M came with the FORD parts spoiler. You apply it to the paint first and holy cow does it make the 3M tape stick to the paint!

They only make 2 kinds - the smaller, more subtle one (In my opinion anyway) and the wider one that is really made for the jeeps and big trucks.
