I'm looking for some feedback. I love the look of fender flares, I think the added black elements really make the truck look nice. I'm wondering if flares on a hybrid would be considered silly? I usually associate these with off-road applications, but I'd like to put some on my hybrid. I'm looking for the lowest profile possible, as it is more for looks. What do you think?

I did it to mine(Area 51) and I like it... which is really what is important--that you like it. I preferred the smooth black no metal screws.

Thanks for the reply. Which flares did you use?

Just the Ford OEM smooth black flares. Folks really seem to like the black trim around the wheel well. Almost forgot...I also had the black hood added around the rear roof lights and antenna. I have to admit it looks cool.

I plan on putting them on my hybrid. No offense to others but I personally feel the mav is too blah without the contrast.

my only wish is they made ones flatter. The only ones in familiar with are the bushwaker looking ones and they kinda comically stick out. Isn’t like I’ll be putting massive tires on this thing so wish that wasn’t the case.

Why ford didn’t make black trim around the wheel wells standard like a trd Tacoma is beyond me…. Looks incomplete , stock.

Style questions like this are like looking at women. Everyone has different tastes. If it were me I would say no, absolutely not. Flares without adding a substantial tire and wheel package makes your truck look like a roller skate. Having a narrow track and flares that are substantially wider is no bueno. Plus it is something meant for function first and a truck that isn't spending a lot of time off road is somewhat pointless. There are a few on here though that did a very good job with the combination of flares and wheel/tire fitment. To each their own though, so do what you need to do to enjoy your truck the most.

That is what i'm looking for.

The price, however, is not! Holy hell....

Fender flares shouldn't be 3% the cost of a vehicle lol.

You get what you pay for when it comes to accessories and modifying cars.

I think it depends on color, too. Those look good on the white but we like our Carbonized grey as it is.

There was a post here about the flares scratching the paint but can't seem to find it now
Sure about that?

That sarcasm aside, let's assume they dont damage your truck.... you still really don't. What you're paying for is the cost of the mold not the part itself, which is at best a few dollars of material. The molds probably cost them around 30k. If that's true, they have to sell only around 50 to break even, everything past that is massive profit at 667 bucks a set.

All for profit, but they're selling thousands of these sets, easily. Probably one of the most wanted accessories for the Maverick, I'm sure. I'd heavily bet a company will produce something nearly identical within a year for significantly less.
