It was crazy fast - like a week. I think it shipped like 4/11 and was delivered 4/17. I reached out to the salesman at my dealer a few days after it shipped to try to get the rail car to track, and he told me it has passed through Bakersfield that day and was due between 4/22-4/28. Got a text the next day that it had arrived...
Looks like it's possible for me. The status today is "placed at industry" which from posts here means it's at the destination and waiting to be unloaded.

Well I’m a big guy and I didn’t think the Maverick would fit. I’ve an older F-350 dually and an 08 TaurusX. I’ve never traded the Taurus as it’s easy entry and exit. I test drove a Fusion Highbred and it was harder to get into. Well my roommate ordered a white ELT in June 21, got it December 29. I loved it driving it was awesome. But by then the order banks were closed. So I waited and ordered a 23 lariat with all the bells and whistles. No word yet on build date. 😱

I’m 5 10 and wife is about 5 8. Have an infant, probably 2yrs out from another kid. Keep my order that’s still unscheduled or should I move on?
I'm 5'11" sat in the front with my legs as far out as I wanted and was still able to sit behind the seat in the same position, and had ample leg room for a trip. If you have a 30"-31" inseam, you will be fine. Those with a 36" inseam will have trouble.

tl;dr: Ordered a Maverick, won the getting built & delivered lottery, loved driving it, walked away.

If you're tall, AND you have a young family, this post's for you.

After wringing my hands about the Mav for most of 2022, since there was no way to test drive one I decided to jump in and place an order for a hybrid Lariat Lux while the banks were open in Sept. After seeing the terrible discrepancy between how many hybrids were ordered, and how many Ford could build, and re-evaluating the importance of AWD for my situation, when ford announced in January that we could switch platforms I went for it.

Because I never received any communication directly from Ford (not even an order confirmation email), once/week I jumped on the Ford CS chat and asked for my order status. Answer was always the same: Unscheduled. I watched the threads here each week, getting the inside scoop on what kind of scheduling was taking place and noting how far out they were getting scheduled for the folks were lucky enough to get a build week. Started to get pretty discouraged.

After the first week of March, I stopped contacting Ford CS every week--figured I'd save myself the disappointment. Then after a few weeks I went ahead and checked again, to see if maybe I'd gotten scheduled on a lark. You know what they said? "Congratulations, your Maverick is AWAITING SHIPMENT." Could'a knocked me over with a feather... And sure enough, less than 14 days later it showed up at my dealer.

So off I went to go check it out. And you know, that 2.0L EB engine is a pistol. The truck was well optioned, fantastic to drive, and looked amazing. BUT... I'm pretty tall being at the far end of 6'3", and my wife is 6'0", and we have 6 and 7 year old boys. I'd read all the forum posts and watched probably every single Maverick video on youtube, and I was optimistic that the 4 or us would be able to make it work, since we have a large SUV as our other vehicle.

Sadly though, we just couldn't. With our boys in booster seats and me in a comfortable seating position to drive, the son behind me had his feet cocked sideways to keep from digging them into the back of the driver's seat. There was no way he'd be comfortable for the year+ he'd still need the booster. It was a little better on the passenger side since my wife could scoot up a little bit, but ultimately it was just too tight. And I'm a little beat up about it, tbh. I had super high hopes. If I was single or we were childless and planning to remain that way, I think the Maverick would be the perfect vehicle. But at this time and place of life for me, it came up short. (ba-dum-tss).

Sadly, every "mid-size" truck on the market has even LESS room than the Maverick, so I wound up lighting my bank account on fire and brought home a Silverado 1500 with the 3.0L Duramax engine. It's fantastic and I love it, but in the back of my mind I'll always wonder about the Maverick that got away...

I think you did the right thing passing on the Maverick. You need a full size truck for your family to be comfortable in for the next 10 years. Why didn't you talk to your dealer on buying a truck they had in stock? Nothing wrong with a GM truck, but I'm sure your dealer had the Maverick sold before you drove home!

My dad did the same, ordered without sitting in one or test drive. He did receive ordered email originally but after that absolutely nothing until dealer called saying it was there. He ultimately just didn’t like how low he sits while in it, didn’t like not being able to see past cars in front of him, he’s always owned F150/250’s.

My wife and I dealt with the lousy communication with the bronco but at least we received emails about being built and shipped.

Great question--I thought about leveraging the golden egg I was giving them into a good deal on an F150. Ford just doesn't make anything nearly as efficient as the Duramax. I don't need a truck every day, so maximizing fuel economy was important to me since the truck is my daily driver.

As of yesterday, dealer had the Maverick up for sale with--unsurprisingly--a $10k markup. Sadly it probably isn't going to last too long even at that.

Bummer that you are so tallšŸ˜‚

Just wondering why your 6 & 7 year Olds are still in booster seats? šŸ¤”šŸ˜Š
Texas law requires that all children younger than eight years old, unless they are taller than 4 feet 9 inches, be secured in a child safety seat whenever they ride in a vehicle. Older children who have outgrown a booster seat must be buckled with a seat belt.

I think you'll be fine--I'd keep your order. Might be a little tight for you with a rear-facing seat behind the driver if your infant isn't switched over to forward facing when #2 comes around, but that'd probably be short lived. Given your heights and number of years before you have teenagers, I think you'd be good. It's funny--when I looked at the Maverick I 100% saw a vehicle that could go off to college with one of my boys. I bet you'd be in good shape to hand it down.
And they could take all their "stuff" in it when they go to college.

Your kids are 6 & 7, and still in booster seats?
Not all kids are the same size as one another!

My niece is 10 and still sits in a booster seat due to her size. She’s tiny for her age! Barely 40 pounds and an absolute twig who’d get blown away by the slightest breeze. šŸ˜‚ The booster also helps her to sit tall enough so that the seatbelt sits on her properly to include the shoulder belt going over her shoulder NOT cutting into her neck as it would without the booster due to her height. This is in line with guidance from TxDOT.

assuming you did not test drive whatever 'spec' Maverick your dealer (or near by dealer) had to ck out you valid issues
By search or from this forum or other forums get measurements for the cab?
This is pretty funny to me.... like there have been units around to see/sit in let alone test drive.

Measurements don't always tell the story and how many videos have we seen where the reviewer or even here have spoke about how roomy it was compared to what they were expecting.

It's strange how cars can have all the right dimensions and yet be uncomfortable. The Mav has essentially the same Leg/Head/Shoulder room as my Forester but somehow it just doesn't work for me. I never found a Mav to test before I ordered and when I did I was uncomfortable. Saving my reservation for my friend who missed the order window, but if that falls through I am planning on trying to leverage the dealer for an F-150 deal. If that falls through, maybe I can make a few $ driving it immediately to Carmax?

Thanks for this. I am in a similar boat.... I want to like this truck so much and do. I do not have kids but at least once a week have adults in my back seat for a few hours so back seat room is important to me.

Thankfully I have been able to sit in a used one, it's tighter back there than I hoped but as you say it's as big/bigger than midsize trucks so it's hard to know what to do since I drive so much I need better MPG than full size offers.

I'm waiting to make a decision till the end of the year when Ranger and Tacoma come out.
