Let me start off by saying if you're still waiting for a Maverick hold on, it will be totally worth it in the end. As a new Maverick owner I can't say how much I love driving this truck and doing truck stuff with it. I ordered a lariat hybrid from Pacifico Ford in Philadelphia and was one of a lucky few to get my order built. I picked up my truck on April 8 and have put a lil over 1,400 miles on it so far. I have done a road trip down to Charlotte NC that put on a good bit of miles off the bat.

Pros:
  • Fuel Milage
    • I am averaging around 41 ish mpg in both City and Highway roughly 60 40 split. I saw people getting great mileage but was weary that my driving style wouldn't be as good. However, 41 is awesome.
  • Seats
    • The seats on the lariat trim are so comfy. Everyone who has been in the truck (front and back) has only but positive things to say about it. The Brown Active X material looks and feels great.
  • Screen
    • After seeing the reviews and everyone talking about the screen, I think it's perfect. The screen is bright, and easy to manage while driving and Apple car play hasn't been an issue what so ever.
  • Adaptive Cruise control
    • Being able to take a road trip and the truck doing most of the driving is one of the greatest things I have ever done. It only makes me want full self driving down the road.
  • Paint Color
    • I love the Cactus Grey depending on the light it shows more green hues or grey. It is so different than what I'm used to and I love it.
  • Handling
    • This rides like a dream, on the highway its quite, in the city its quite, it takes bumps like a champ and is a fun truck to drive. I haven't had any issues passing people on the highway.
  • Duluth Trading dog cover
    • This fits perfectly and looks good in the back seat with the brown interior. (See picture)

Cons:
  • Slight pull/ out of balance issue
    • I have a slight pull, out of balance issue with one the wheels that I am trying to figure out. Could be from a pump in the road, it's not major and It seems that I'm the only one who notices it so far. So it could be my brain playing tricks on me? More to come in the next few days.
  • Quality issues
    • I attached an image of the head rest that looks like someone used a pen on it and missed the paper. While not a huge deal was kind of a bummer to notice it after I left the dealer. Also the front hood has unequal gaps on the left and right fenders. Again, not a huge deal breaker but it's the little things right?
  • Ford Motor Company Customer Service / tracking
    • We have all read the stories about not being able to track orders or get information about our trucks. Going through the process to completion it's all true. They can't track a truck to save their lives which is so stressful if you're like me and didn't have a vehicle. Ford has a lot of cleaning up to do if ordering vehicles is the wave of the future.

Things I was worried about and outcomes:
  • Screen
    • See above
  • Bed length
    • Not really using a truck bed at this length before I was worried it wouldn't hold up to my needs. Let me just say I've already hauled a washer/dryer, smoker, gravel, and fishing supplies without any hiccups.
  • Seat comfort
    • See above, also never sat my fat ass in a lariat trim maverick before ordering.
  • Review mirror at night
    • Wasn't sure how much blinding light I would get in the truck when driving at night. So far it's pretty low key mostly due to the drive height from my Mazda 3 to the maverick.

All in all this Truck is F#%king Awesome. It's comfortable for long hauls, lets me do truck stuff while getting great gas milage. I would recommend this to anyone. If you have any questions or want to know anything let me know, happy to share.

Nice write up, I'm right around 3k miles with mine and share most of your feelings. Biggest disagreement I have is driving fun, I'm sure this is about perspective, but coming from a Fiat 500 Abarth, and a Miata before that, the electronic steering is completely dead feeling to me, especially on initial turn in. Completely share your feelings with comfort though, and love using the adaptive cruise.

I thought I had this issue too, and it turned out to be the Lane Keeping System wanting the vehicle to be in a slightly different "center" than what I did. You can feel the servos or whatever they use to nudge the wheel giving a little bit of resistance when it is enabled.

Turn it off by pushing the little button at the end of the turn signal lever and see if that helps.

The driving feel is much better with this off, and I only turn it back on when cruising on the highway.

My comments are pretty much the same as you. I received mine April 9th. 517 days from order to in my garage. Yes worth the wait. Hated the wait. Agree with you about Ford tracking. No pen marks on my seat. No alignment issues. Hood alignment perfect. I’m more than happy with my little guy, named “Ziggy”. No issues like others have mentioned on this forum. Have added numerous accessories. A+ for this great little pickup. Perfect for my needs. Easy to get around, park and very comfortable. Oh yes, I do have a different exterior color, Atlas Blue. I to like the Lariat seat color. In my case, no “Cons”.

Beautiful truck and great review. I have an Alto Blue 23 Lariat hybrid loaded like yours and love it as well. You are right on the money where I am with fuel mileage. I am somewhere above 42 after 1500 miles. I have ZERO complaints, although Apple Car Play has dropped my map a couple of times, but big deal - take 10 seconds and press a couple of buttons and there you go again. The seats are awesome. I have the same materials on a 22 Kia Niro hybrid so already knew how nice and comfortable they were. Happy Mavericking.

I thought it could be that. Tried it but I think its something with balance, or steering column? I'm on the hunt to find the issue lol

I should be getting my Maverick Hybrid Lariat 5/5. Thank you for the review. For the ink on your seat, I recommend you try using, Mr Clean Magic eraser. It was the only thing that worked for me when I has ink from a broken pen on multiple surfaces. Of course, do a small test spot first. Congratulations on your New Maverick.

Yep - that's exactly what I found. Truth is that I probably was trying to keep the truck "centered" about 6-12 inches left of absolute center (because I'm used to driving a Chevy 2500HD that is WAY bigger than the Mac), and was fighting with the lane keeping system. Once my "sight picture" got adjusted, that "pulling to one side" issue disappeared for me.

Austin, I see you've got your fishing rods on the bed deck. I had mine there, as well. I've snapped rod tips during fishing trips doing that, and decided I wasn't going to lay my rods in the bed, if I could help it. I purchased a Portarod System with three rod holders. You can get additional holders if you need them. I can at least use it on nice days when I head out fishing with the tonneau pulled back. I'm a fair-weather fisherman, so that's most times. Just an idea for you.:)

Nice feedback Lumberjack. I have the exact same truck..only have 300 miles on it. Taking our first trip in a week, from close to sea level in Eugene,Oregon to Bend (Cascades of Oregon ) and into the high dessert of Central Oregon. Hopefully I will still be very Pro Maverick when we get back home.
