Harrisburg is where I’m staying. Stayed there when I went to Ford Carlisle many years ago. It is an easy drive.

And back then there were a ton of vehicles. Can’t imagine how big it is now.
Thanks for confirming that for folks — Don’t want anyone put off by not being able to stay in Carlisle.

MAVS AT CARLISLE UPDATE: We’re making steady progress on our goal of getting 25 Mavericks to register for the Ford Nationals by April 28.

We’ve got 11 “definitely”s (registered already or going to) and 7 “definitely interested/hope so”s — That’s 18, so about 75% of the way there, if the “hope so”s get registered in the next month.

Just remember when you register to make sure you select “Maverick Truck Club” from the drop-down menu.

REGISTER NOW

ANOTHER REASON TO SIGN UP NOW — Preregister by April 18, and you’ll get your admission windshield sticker in the mail ahead of time. (In addition to 10% discount.)

So, “you can affix your window sticker at home and drive right onto the grounds and immediately begin having a great time,” as they say on the website.

You’ll be directed to the Maverick truck area of the huge show field — the Maverick Truck Club 20x20 tent should be set up close by our trucks.

Bring your foldup chairs. We’ll have some tables, a grill and coolers and be cooking out all weekend. Contributions — food and otherwise — will be welcome for that.

You are encouraged to bring any parts/accessories you’d like to share/swap/sell to other MTC members. (Although no selling to walkers-by, the rules say. You have to get a vendor space if you want to do that.)

ALSOWe are tentatively planning to have some MTC “swag” to give away to everyone who preregsters by April 18, as a reward for helping us earn the free tent.

More news on that as we get closer to the deadline. We have some ideas in mind, but nothing finalized yet.

(Photo below is from last year’s Carlisle Import show. Only a fraction of the showgrounds, and nowhere near as big as the Ford show … but might give you the idea.)

First post, and no Maverick, but I can answer any questions that you may have about the event. I go to Carlisle for the Ford Nats every year. Definitely a great time. Last year was their biggest show Carlisle has ever had--not just the biggest Ford show, but their biggest show period. IIRC, they had over 3500 registered vehicles.
I've been going every year since 2009, first with my Ranger, and since 2014, with my Focus ST. If you have the opportunity, just get signed-up for the Showfield and go. As many of you are starting to find out, motel rooms are hard to find this time of year; I book mine every year in November or December.
Feel free to reach out with any questions and I should be able to help.
This was my ST on the Showfield last year.

Could you give us some details on your "signage" under the hood? Is it expected that if we register for the show field that we will post some kind of information about our vehicle on a window, under the hood, etc?

Never done anything like this before. Appreciate your input. Thanks for the help!

@EVH5150 can respond with what specifically he has on his ST's windshield ...

Carlisle will give you a printed dash card with your name, registration number, show class, and vehicle details (year, make, model, trim line) that you registered with.

You put that on your car/truck so people can see who has what, and vote for you by registration number if they think you have the best vehicle in your class. (Participants get to vote.)

But, yes, some owners put up signs telling people what's special about their vehicle.

Classic/vintage cars may have the car's history, restoration information, modifications, etc. Especially if it's something rare. They may display vintage tool sets, maps, owners manuals, etc. that go with the car.

Some people make big posters or display photo albums showing all that they've done to the car. Or a list of awards or shows.

Modern vehicles often display info on modifications that have been made — special paint jobs, mechanical enhancements, accessories, etc. — and pretty much anything the owner wants to brag about!

Most owners will have the hood up so people can take a look at the engine ... especially if modified. Again, not something you HAVE to do.

(There are people who will jack the car up at an angle and put a big mirror on the ground so people can see what they've done underneath ...)

None of this is "expected" or mandatory — it's just what some people do!

But if you're proud of what you've done with your Maverick, feel free to make a sign or two and brag on it. Or even a sign of what features came on the truck that people might want to know about, since these trucks still aren't widely "out there." (Like the mph you're getting, for instance. Especially for hybrids, I imagine.)

Or maybe even a copy of your window sticker, since some will be curious.

There are ALL sorts of owners at car shows1 Some people polish and primp their rides to the Nth degree.

Some owners set up "camp" behind their cars — chairs, coolers, umbrellas, reading material — and hang out to answer questions and talk to people who come by and want to talk about their cars.

Others just drive their vehicles in and park them, then wander off to see the other cars and enjoy the show, and spend little time hanging around their own car.

But with a club tent nearby to hang out in, it's the best of both worlds, since there's a place to sit in the shade and talk and answer questions from people walking by, and maybe going out to your truck now and then to show it off.

Regarding the display boards: I was doing some experimenting with that display last year so I wouldn't have to lug my normal display board setup all the way from VT. Left-to-right: basic description on features and mods that I worked-up in Word, a Marti Report-yes, you can get these for most Ford vehicles, and a Certificate of Authenticity from Ford Performance that states production figures. I have a new, custom-printed foam display board that I'll be using this year; IIRC, I have a copy of my window sticker in the left frame now.
Old Display:
Ford Maverick Maverick Truck Club at CARLISLE FORD NATIONALS • June 2-4, 2023 • Sign Up Online! 1678970867227

This is just something that I've perfected over the years using plexiglass, info sheets are just printed on the computer, very simple but effective.
New Display that I got shortly after Carlisle last year:

Carlisle is my first show of the year; I usually do 8-10 per year with the ST. Yes, it's a daily driver, just not every day; 2014 with just over 40K miles.
I definitely recommend registering for the Gate-N-Go; it saves you some money and you can head straight to the showfield without having to wait in line at Registration.

A few recommendations if this is your first time:
A pop-up canopy is a must. Set it up behind your rig and you have an instant Home Base. Buy a set of canopy weights at Dicks Sporting Goods, they're worth every penny --I've seen canopies take flight in the wind, and it's not pretty. Be sure to read Carlisle rules on their website.
At the very least, bring along folding camp chairs, a cooler with ice (fill-up at the motel), beverages, plenty of sunscreen and a hat, an umbrella and/or rain gear, plus detailing supplies.
See Carlisle rules on their website. No loud music, open flames, For Sale signs, or drones.

All good info. Thank you!

I just had a lift kit installed on my truck, along with 245/70/17 Firestone Destination AT tires. I've made some other mods, such as the ACS Forged bed rack/gear storage system from Leitner Designs, custom decals and chrome deletes, etc. Expecting to add a rooftop tent prior to the show.

It's certainly not a super custom vehicle like someone's 60-something Mustang or a restored Model T, but I suppose there are enough personal touches that folks will be curious. I think your idea of putting a copy of the window sticker in the window, along with another sheet that highlights major modifications is probably a good idea.

This is going to be fun.

Just an idea of the scale of this event. This is a shot of the 2022 show field from an unapproved drone.

I see that we now have six registered. When the seventh person registers, those are the ones that will receive the Ford manual covers. Kim, you are the editor and you started all this, if you would be so kind as to inform those participants of this I would be greatly appreciative. Again thanks.

Just an added note, being an old foggie, my computer skills are abysmal. I am definitely a paper first guy. I like to see first hand/ anytime what and when I have had work done on my vehicle. I am just very old school.
