Nice! We lived in Eau Claire from '93-'97. I worked at Cray in CF. I do not miss the winters. I worked nights, and we use to have to go warm up our vehicles during break. I do miss the summers, and less hustle/bustle of city life.

I first moved up here in '99. I moved away in 2010 when my wife went to grad school at Purdue down in Indiana, but we ended up moving back here in 2017 when she finished because we really like the area (and my job is based out of here -- I just telecommuted while we were in Indiana).

The town is very different from where it was back then, with the 53 bypass, the revitalization downtown, London Square getting demolished... Chicken Unlimited closing. 😆

Heck, over the last decade the UWEC campus is unrecognizable.

But a nice summer Saturday afternoon sitting in a park by Half Moon Lake still hits the same.

We'll have to go back for a visit one of these days. We went back in 2008, and it already looks different.

This is my latest pic of snow at my home.
Never dealt with this much snow before. I feel like my shoveling efforts are useless

In southern California? Yikes. Y'all do not have the infrastructure for that. Like that hits here, and the plows are out clearing while it lands.

Shoveling while it comes down can help, just because then it doesn't get too deep. Honestly I'd stay off the roads if I were you -- roads like that unplowed and unsalted with drivers who aren't used to it can be an absolute disaster, because it doesn't matter how good a drive you are if everyone else is skidding around.

We got more...

Maybe, maybe not. That lot had been plowed three times already. Looking at that driving footage, it's a lot less snow than what I drove through on Thursday.

These photos were taken long after the snow stopped, and left to blow in the high winds. For reference, the drifts were up past my knees to get to my other car --and I'm 6'3"

I didn't feel like I won when I fell and almost faceplanted in it this afternoon. 😆

But also, you still had a lot -- and might have gotten more at once than we did. There was already a good amount of snow on the ground here when our storm started.

We've had plows all day but they can't keep up. Definitely staying home unless by some miracle the snow stops.

Loaded up another Park City snow video this am on my channel. More vids coming so I may win after all!

We are sitting at about 36” total So far, with about 13” just in the last week. Last year we had over 70” I was running out of places on the property to put it. Last year it stuck around till late May.
Last year in Dec it dumped 20” over a two day period and then warmed up to 36° above and dropped 3/4” of rain.
which built up on every paved surface to over 3”.
Many buildings had their roofs collapse.

This year's been pretty average. With the most recent snowfall, I think we're up to 50 something inches? But we got about a hundred inches in the 2018/2019 winter. That year was rough.

Last of the snow didn't melt until June that year.

That was a bad year for us as well, I’m glad we haven’t gotten rain yet this year. We’ve been fairly mild this year, only hit - 50° once, more -20’s and 0° days then -30° and -40°’s.
We still have march and April though, could get a lot more snow.

Our temperatures have been pretty mild this year. We only had a week or so in the double digit negatives. No real "deep freeze" this time around. Of course that means we're getting freezing rain tomorrow night.

I could live anywhere with my job, yet I chose here. 😆
