Installed Elevate Racks, Ford Hard Roll-up Tonneau and Boeing airplane carpet rug

I just finished installing the Elevate Racks on my Lariat. Racks are excellent, well made. Went together well with a few minor bugs. First there are about 100 separate parts if you count washers and nuts, etc. Second, the instruction manual was not as well made, some wrong parts size descriptions, and I had about 30 left-over parts for "other" type of install. Came with short and tall bolts, but not enough shorts. I had to use the taller bolts with my own nuts as provided nuts are not "pass-through" so not able to tighten when they dead ended. Alex from Realtruck gave me a very nice MTC discount and made ordering easy. Shipment arrived in about 5 days!

I also put in a bed rug and separate cross bar. I used Boeing carpet, like they put in the aisle of plane. Very indestructible and has a heavy rubber backing. Also bonus was it was free! Its not stuck down, but the two D-ring tie-downs in front are holding it in place.

I live near Seattle. Boeing used to have a surplus store where you could get all kinds of things, from slightly used drill bits, slightly bent C-clamps or carpet etc. They donated to a theatre I designed at, but theatre went under and I got 4 rolls of 12' x 30' carpet from the shop when we had to tear it down and empty it.

That’s pretty smart to use. I bet airplane carpet sees more abuse than any other!

Did you have the missing bolt issue? I see you also put on the tie downs. Basically, I was missing 8 shorter bolts, had to use longer ones on crossbars with my own nuts.

We had it in the house for quite a few years. Wears like iron, even with four dogs and a couple of cats. Got new, much plusher carpet so I have a lot of scraps to use.

Man I love that divider and the carpet it reminds me of something but I'm not sure of what I'm getting old and I have a tendency to forget things ?? But eventually come to me I Think ?? . LOL .

No, I had all the bolts but it just wasn't packaged great. What I would have done was create a separate bag for the rails, tie downs and cross bars. I did mistakenly used a short bolt where I was suppose to use a long bolt and ripped open the rubber cover on a bolt.

How much mpg does the hybrid take on this? What are the main use for this? Would it be good for a tent? Or a basket?

No, I had all the bolts but it just wasn't packaged great. What I would have done was create a separate bag for the rails, tie downs and cross bars. I did mistakenly used a short bolt where I was suppose to use a long bolt and ripped open the rubber cover on a bolt.

I called Truxedo today, and told them about missing bolts. I only got 16 1" T-bolts with Rack, along with 8 -1 1/4" bolts for a different application. Found out there should have been 8 bolts with TS Rails in separate box. They are shipping me more. Real nice to deal with, and rack is great!

I called them last week trying to buy more of their t-bolts, they want $9.60 EACH. I should have just lied to them and told them they were missing,,,,,

If they were missing, then no need to lie. They are aware of the high number of parts, easy to miss a part, and had no issue with sending me the missing ones that should have come in the TS Rail box.
