Hi All. First time poster, but have been following along for quite sometime. Pumped to share that I got a 2023 Lariat Tremor on order and recently found out my truck is scheduled for production on Jan 2! Can’t wait! One question I’m hoping to get folks experience on, when ordering I had originally wanted the Spray In Bedliner but removed it at the recommendation of my dealer since it at the time it was a constrained item. With the latest news indicating they worked that out and is no longer constrained, I reached out to my dealer and asked if I could get this added since the truck hasn’t been built yet and I’d rather not have to deal with a third party install after delivery. They said Ford wouldn’t allow any changes or additions since I received a production date. I thought I had read changes like this could be added up until build/window sticker creation. Just curious if anyone has tried to make a change after receiving their production date, but prior to it being produced? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, and happy to be joining the Club!!

Welcome to the forums @MaverickInMass! I was a long time lurker to before I made my first post.:)

As far as your question is concerned I believe your dealer is correct. Once a VIN as been assigned changes are very difficult if not impossible to make. The reason being is that Fords manufacturing facility has already allocated the parts for your vehicle and once that happens it is very hard to make changes to the order.

I understood from previous postings that you CAN make changes until a window sticker is assigned (not VIN). I also added back in CoPilot 360 for the same reason.

OTOH my production week just got pushed from Dec. 19 to Jan 2, but so did everyone else.

Ah well perhaps I am wrong. Either way it sounds like the OP is at the mercy of his dealer and they seem unwilling to alter the order after a VIN has been assigned.

Thanks for weighing in. I really appreciate it. Has anyone else tried to make a similar change after Vin has been issued but prior to production/window sticker? Hoping to push back on dealer if it’s a possibility. Thanks!
