My father's is still sitting at Wilmington, came in with yours and still showing inactive, not even scheduled to go to Chapman. In the meantime I've seen other F150s and Broncos come in after and they've been delivered already. Maybe the dealer getting their vehicles from Newark didn't have anything higher priority going to them. All I know is that is the only logical reasoning and if I were managing a dealer's inventory I sure as hell would prioritize the more expensive vehicles being brought to me, it just makes sense so close to the end of the year when every bit of overall sales money could be the difference between a mediocre bonus and a great bonus.

Yeah, well, at least my order is active and pending pickup. I mean, if and when they decide to move it, it can be at the dealer in a couple hours. So, I could be pleasantly surprised any day. On the other hand, it could sit there for weeks. The uncertainty is the big bother.

Hope my truck and your dad's both get on their way home very soon.

Hope you get yours soon. I only hope my father gets his soon because he calls me regularly asking where his truck is and isn't really computer savvy enough to check this all out himself as he's almost 80.

As frustrating as some of the waiting is, in the general grand scheme none of this waiting really matters at all so what I will say is that getting this invested in the order-build-delivery process of a new car has actually been really interesting. It's like following along as a real-life puzzle gets solved....Just now:

Mine finally showed up at the dealership late Sunday night. I get to pick it up tomorrow.

This is the WORST waiting of all. My truck can be at my dealer in less than two hours IF they would just pick it up.

I'm going to wait until tomorrow before bugging my dealer again, knowing there realistically is not much he can do either.

I am just as frustrated watching you all be frustrated! If you all need me to go bust your Mavs out of the Wilmington rail yard, let me know. I am 6 miles from there and I am ready to use my 4k tow to get each of you out! I am hoping we can close out this thread before Christmas.

The way you'll really know for sure is when your rail car has departed Wilmington and is traveling to other places. At that point, you know your truck is in the yard and you can stop messing around with the rail tracking.

In other news, a handful of more F-150s and Explorers delivered to my dealer yesterday from rail yards in Newark. Yet my Maverick and two Bronco Sports continue to just sit in Wilmington "pending pickup."

COLD COMFORT: So, I reached out to my dealer today regarding the status of my Maverick that is sitting at the Wilmington yard along with a couple of Bronco Sports, and here's his reply.

It hasn't been assigned to a carrier yet. This can certainly be the most painful part. ​

The shortage of truckers is a major part of the supply chain issue.​

Translation: There is nothing I can do. It will get here when it gets here.

At this point, I don't know that there is anything that can be done. I'm just going to do my best to not worry about it. I'll keep an eye on United Road tracking for updates, and check in with my dealer once a week until the truck finally arrives.
