No Order Changes?

Originally ordered my XLT Hybrid on Sept. 16 2022, and even after order books for MY22 were closed, you could make edits to your order as long as you weren't changing powertrain or trim level, right? Or am I crazy? I remember having my dealer remove my splash guards and bed extender from my MY22 order earlier this year despite order books being closed.

I didn't originally add the BAP to my rolled-over MY23 orders because I wanted to wait to see interior and rear photos from Ford since the only photo available at the time of ordering was the one showing the front in the MY23 order guides. Now that we can see on the build and price website what everything looks like, I want to add it to my build. But now my dealer is telling me that with the order books being closed already they can't edit my MY23 order to add the BAP? Why wouldn't they be able to edit already-placed orders still like they could for MY22? Will they open order books back up for them to do this later on, or will I be stuck with what I have?

I called my dealer the other day asking to add a package to my Mav and he said if they go through with it he's worried it will "put me in the back of the line" of their orders


Anyone else been told that or is there a misunderstanding somewhere

I have edited my order since the books closed. It can be done within same trim level.

I wonder if adding the BAP is considered changing the "trim" then? Why else would it prevent my dealer from adding that to my order? They did try to add it and then called to tell me that it couldn't be added. Is Ford only making a limited number with BAP?

It can be edited and it won't put you at the back of the line.

As @fordvideoguy has said many times, the only thing that will reset your order date in the system is changing body codes (hybrid, Ecoboost, EB AWD, Tremor) or trims (XL, XLT, Lariat).

Small changes such as the color of the truck, luxury packages, appearance packages, floor mats, bed lines, etc., will NOT change the time stamp on your order and really have zero impact on when your order will be considered by Ford. Now, if you are adding parts/features available in limited quantity, then sure you may have to wait longer. But it's not because you changed the order; it's just because of what features you ordered.

There are some changes that will affect the receipt date. Changing the Body Code (FWD/AWD/Advanced AWD), PEP code (XL, XLT, Lariat), and the order type (Retail, A Plan, X Plan). All other changes will not affect the receipt date.

This is supposed to be a reputable dealer (Jim Burke Ford).

Unfortunately, my sales guy just seems to be uninformed. I'm doing my best to politely disagree and explain that it is indeed possible. But it's a thin line because I don't want him to get pissed and sabotage my order all together in one way or another.

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea to change from Hybrid to EB. Is this allowed? What about changing Trim levels?

Can't change the engine, they are locked out. Trim and Body Code can be changed but it will move your order date to the day you made the changes.

Can i change anything after i have a vin and scheduled for production? Specifically the vehicle color? I am scheduled the week of 16 jan.
