I've lurked here for awhile but finally joined since my order was confirmed back on the 16th and I had something to mention.
The other day I decided to make a change to my order, as I knew the 4k tow package would be something I'd end up regretting not having. However, when I contacted the dealer, they insisted all the submitted and confirmed orders could no longer be amended in any way and I was stuck as is.
Not convinced, I got ahold of Ford's main marketing department, who verified that order alterations continue to work just as they have in the past: if you've yet to be assigned a VIN, changes can still be made.
Contacted the dealer again and relayed the message I just received. In less than an hour, my order had been successfully updated. I'm mentioning it here, just in case anyone without a VIN tries to make a change and their dealer erroneously claims nothing can now be done. Ford says otherwise so don't let the dealer maintain that line, even if unintentionally.
