Its hard to tell the drop off in fuel economy. The lift will probably hamper the highway driving far worse than city/low speed driving. Maybe 39 city and 28 highway for a 2 inch lift. It will be interesting to see what people get.

Get some quotes for color match add on. Maybe line x or rhino liners can do it for a fair price.
Is that all? I would lift ASAP if that all the gas mileage that I would lose.

Though my question to you is does a 2 inches height make a big different on the driving experience? With a 2 inches lift, it still 1 inches lower than the Ranger for example. And is a 2 inches lift the max this truck can handle?

I want a truck so I can sit up high, my previous SUV (Honda CRV) had a really low ride height compare to other SUV like the 4runner.

If I don't add luxury package, I will check them out. August 16, 2022 is when the hybrid will be available to order again :(

Thank you

I disagree entirely with the idea you'll lose 3mpg overall with a 2" lift. There is no current Maverick test subject, but slightly larger wheels alone on some hybrids have more impact than 3mpg.

Example: 2022 Kia Niro. Jumping from a basic FE model to a Touring model drops the combined fuel economy by 7mpg. This is mostly due to the difference in just the wheels. The FE combined rating is 50MPG. The Touring is 43.

With a lift and different wheels/tires, you're probably looking at minimum of dropping the combined rating by at least that much.

2" is the most that is out ATM. To get more will likely add too much CV angle.

If you want to sit high this is not the right truck. Ranger is better and will have more support for lifting...

Losing 7 MPG for both city and hwy is the most I'm willing to take. Anything more, and it no longer fuel efficent. Does 2 inches height change the driving experience? Is 2 inches lift high enough?

Hey guys,

I will eventually own a hot pepper red XLT hybrid probably sometime in 2023 since you can't get a hybrid until then regardless. I have never own a truck before, so I have some questions if you guys don't mind answering.

1. What options are actually worth the price? (as in not being over charge)?
- What options would you recommend that you can't get after-market part for (this is also my first time actually ordering anything other than the base model)?

2. I know I will own the hybrid so it won't be able to lift, but I am curious how lifting actually work? Does lifting a truck void it warrantly? Do people wait until their warrantly expire and then lift, or do people lift it right away? Same goes with wheels as well (I want the black rims but it isn't available on the hybrid). Does it affect the warrantly? What modification can you do to your truck without it voiding any warrantly?

3. What exterior and/or interior do you plan to do to your truck?

4. For those that live in cold freezing temperature, is there anything I need to do to my truck? Can I repaint the factory spray on bed liner to match the color of my truck? And why doesn't ford offer color spray on bed liner? Would having the moonroof option make the top of the truck weaker? (Hail damage)
- Is Blizzak snow tire the best?

Thanks

OK, most of these are the opinions and needs of the individual owner. Everyone is different.
1. If you think you might EVER tow, get the receiver hitch. Much cheaper and easier to do it upfront. Everything else is pure preference. Can you live with it or cant you? Nothing is really overpriced if you actually need and/or use it.
2. Lifting if not done by factory or dealer can void certain warranties. But why would you lift a hybrid? Wheels do not void a warranty especially if the same specs as OEM and that is ANY OEM.
3. There are thousands of people on here and few with identical setups. The only exception are the lazy First Edition owners who just said give me everything! hehehehe
4. If you want color matched spray in liner, do not do it factory and get it aftermarket. Colors are a whole different ball game than black. The moonroof is built to take some punishment. At the end of the day, its still tempered glass. In cold temps, a block heater would be a good idea.

FWIW when in electric mode with larger wheels you GAIN MPGS or rather Miles per watt.

There could be more of a drop off in fuel economy. I just have no data yet since hybrids came out in December. Keep an eye out for lifted hybrid reviews. I don’t know how stressed the hybrid system will be with the added height/wind resistance. Perhaps lowering your tow capacity too.

More than a 2 inch lift kit? Maybe do 2 inch lift and add larger wheel/tires. Anything more and I recommend a Ranger.

I test drove the Maverick and it felt like a much better ride height than the Honda CRV. You have a lot of time to find one to test drive.

The new re-design Ranger look really good, but I think it out of my price-range, and there no news on any hybrid. However I think the Ranger has a smaller cabin (rear seat/door) than the Maverick.

Mine was a 2002 Honda CRV manual, which I believe sit higher than modern CRV, but I'm not 100% sure. That was when the CRV was still an SUV, and not a crossover.

1) the value of the options depends on what you want. 4k tow gives a lot of goodies but it's kind of useless if you will never tow and don't want AWD. Lux packs are nice if you want that sort of thing, if not they are very expensive. It would be better if you first defined what you want.

2) Lifts for unibody vehicles involve putting a spacer on top of the springs where they attach to the body. They put additional stress on the CV joints as a result. If a CV blows I wouldn't be surprised if they decline to fix it under warranty.

3) I have no specific plans other than a spray in bedliner and a hard trifold tonneau. I may also replace some light bulbs with LEDs.

4) No opinions.

Whut?? That doesn't sound right, or all the electrics would have giant wheels...
No because it kills battery life. In theory a DC motor will spin at the same RPM regardless of load. All you do is use more battery life. The easiest way other than a program to get more speed out of a golf cart is larger wheels. But that is at the expense of battery life.

For what it's worth, I have used Monstaliner bedliner for both my Jeep rockers on my restoration project (rolled on, which it what it was designed for) and sprayed on with a cheap $10 schutz gun in my Ram 1500. It is a two-part catalyzed product and is 100% UV-stabile, so no fading. It's a really good product and not really all that expensive - you just gotta do it yourself. Best part - you can tint it into just about any color you want. They offer an array of colors that you can purchase (and free color chips), or you can go to a local auto paint dealer and get just the colorants (no fillers) for the color code you want. This is what I did for my jeep project to get a (nearly) exact color match.

Most important question is what do you want out of a truck? Answer this question honestly, then you’ll have a clearer picture on the truck you need.

My Maverick is a want and not a need and at 77 I have had all the options and the only one I don’t have is a moon roof. I could have done with less but I would miss the Co-Pilot 360 the most. I like the LUX package next with the heated seats and mirrors. I park in a garage so in the morning I do not have to clean snow and Ice off. I am retired. The off road and 4000# tow package give you a larger cooling capacity and oil and transmission coller (I think). These features are nice if you drive in rush hour start and stop driving. Preserves the drive train. I also have AWD and with front wheel drive I would have left this off. I did not order this truck. Before owning the Lariat I was going to order the XLT Lux with Co-Pilot 360. After owning the Lariat I would now order the Lariat with LUX and Co-Pilot 360 Is my perfect configuration. If you are going off road buy a ranger or something with a frame under it. When I read the manual on the tie downs and the potential problems with too much pressure I decided this is a light duty truck. Before buying this truck study the owners manual to know if it is what you really want. It meets my requirements for my age 30 years ago I would have bought a F150.
