Florida regulates warranties. Everyone pays the same price

Granger was selling them at $50 over. You can use the warranty at any dealer, it doesn't have to be at Granger so it should work in Florida no problem. I plan on doing it myself.

The issue is Florida has special licensing requirements on selling warranty products directly to its residents.

I don't think you can buy an extended warrantee in Florida from out of state dealers. You have to pay the 2K price, it's a state law. If you get it, let the rest of us in Flordia know how you did it.

I wasn't aware of that. I will have to check more into it then. My Maverick was one of the canceled ones so still waiting on a new build date anyways.

From what I can see there is no regulation on the pricing, it's still negotiable. So if a dealership is trying to pass on that they need to charge full retail then they're just trying to leverage the exclusivity to charge more.

Yep, there are licensing requirements in Florida to "help" regulate their sale.

See: https://www.cartalk.com/extended-wa...g-extended-warranty-laws-state-by-state-guide

Florida
Home to alligators, a world-famous mouse, and the launch arm of the space program, the Sunshine State is also home to nearly 8-million vehicles, and that’s a lot of potential extended warranties to sell. Florida has a number of regulations surrounding service contracts, some of which are relatively rare.
Companies selling service contracts in Florida must be licensed through the Office of Insurance Regulation. Their contracts have to highlight any restrictions or limitations, including if non-original or used parts can be used to repair cars.
Contracts have a longer cancellation period than many states - you’ll have 60 days from purchase to cancel for a full refund, minus an administrative fee that can’t be more than 5% of the contract’s price.
Companies are forbidden from misrepresenting important facts and provisions about what’s covered, and not covered in the contract, and they’re required to act on claims “promptly.” They cannot deny coverage based on lack of proper maintenance unless the maintenance would have prevented the breakdown.
Beyond that, Florida has ways for consumers to easily do research on extended warranty companies. You can verify that a company is licensed in Florida by checking this website. And you can check this site to find any complaints lodged against a service contract company.
Read full Florida car warranty laws here.

Check with Flood Ford, or any other Ford dealer, and see if they will sell an extended warantee to someone in Florida.

Flood isn't. As mentioned before Lombard Ford is as well as Zeigler Ford.

Lombard Ford is licensed to sell ESPs to Florida residents. I believe they're closer to $100 over cost.

If so then ouch. The best warranty coverage from them ran between $3000 and $4000 when I checked. Of course, a couple of headlights needing to be replaced could equal that amount.

I only see their quote going that crazily high for coverage to 125k miles or higher. For the more traditional upper end of like 8 year/100k they're pretty in-line with the others.

Just checked again. 8 years, 100k premium care extended warranty is $2900-3500. Looks like Ford only backs up its “Quality is Job One” mantra if you pay an extra 10-15% over MSRP for the warranty.
