That kinda doesn’t make sense. MY23 with vins canceled. Something doesn’t sound right. Specially coming from a dealer.
Or...... the dealer wanted the OP to think he might not get his truck and he better buy this one. ( so he has money in hand) Although I'm sure there would be others to buy it if he didn't?

Congrats on picking up the customer canceled order! It's better to have the sure thing rather than taking a risk of yours not getting built!! That's exactly the approach I took as well!

Believe it or not, I had all three trim levels I picked up beginning on 27 January, all of them hybrids. An XL that a customer couldn't take delivery on due to getting stage 4 cancer. Traded it in on 31 March for an XLT with the lux pkg that a customer canceled and bought a Ranger instead. Then traded it in on 27 Oct for a Lariat with CP360, Lux, and a moonroof. I'm done now. My '22 that I ordered on 15 Oct was an XLT w/Lux and CP, and the dealer removed both packages, so I told him I didn't want it anymore. I ordered a '23 hybrid Lariat w/Lux, both CP360's, and the BAP, but I was told I had a 0% chance of getting it built with the packages and constraints. So, when the Lariat became available, I jumped at the chance to pick it up! out of all three trim levels, the Lariat is the best!

Did he say why they canceled the customer 23 orders ?
My dealer also said they had to call 8 customers after being notified by Ford that they would not be building their trucks, that would suck. I contacted dealer to see why I was a 19 priority , when I was rolled over to 2023. Original order dates of Jan.17th & 27th for daughter & I. Dealer said 150 of their orders converted to 2023 orders, I was supposedly 6th on list. Have no build date for my xlt eco boost with no constraints

That does suck….I’m still wondering why they are canceling them…. were they later orders, or anything that could make them stand out from other orders

Said Ford took too many orders and realize they can not build them all.

If take the one on the lot....assuming your not getting screwed on price. You'll have lane centering so the truck can drive itself. Hear me now and believe me later, the truck steering itself is worth every penny the option costs.

* Don't tell me the truck won't do this. It will. I drive hands free on the highway all the time. If you think otherwise you just don't know how to do it.

Well I would rather know if my new 2023 order has no chance of ever being built and its cancelled than to hang on thinking it may be built but not really. Yea it would suck if they canceled it but at least you know to look else were for something especially if your in need of a new vehicle.

I ordered a cactus grey Maverick Lariat hybrid Lux Co-Pilot360 on Oct 23d, 2021 and have gone through the same waiting game and order conversion process as many of you.

My dealer called me earlier today about three customer ordered Mavericks he just got in, two hybrids and an Eco. When he called one of the hybrid customers, the customer bailed on him and told him he didn't want the order, so the dealer called me to see if we were interested. The order is a cactus grey Maverick Lariat hybrid Lux Co-Pilot360 w/moon roof. I told him if it was as he described it, he had it sold.

When we showed up at the dealer to test drive it, he handed me an email that he just got from Ford. It was a production notification email from Ford that my order was going into production! So it's raining Mavericks at our house today. WHOOPEE! I have not stopped dancing today. . . .

We will probably take the 'Maverick in hand' rather than wait for the 'Maverick in the bush' (that may never get built). The Maverick we drove will not have the private offer applied to it, but it's sitting there and is a reality, not just a 'plan' from Ford.

My dealer also told me that Ford has canceled three of his new MY23 orders, so he has been telling those customers the bad news. Bummer for sure for both him and his customers.
Yup. Grab the available one while you can!

Guess that was your best decision. I ordered my Ecoboost XLT AWD with towing package on December 29th. 2021 & after 6 Production Week changed it has been built & shipped as of November 2nd. Won't arrive to dealer til near end of November though.
