Up for sale is a brand new Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid in Cactus Gray with 60 miles on it (this mileage will go up slightly). So far I'm averaging 42 mpg. Asking $34,000. Located in Lancaster, PA.

Options include: Copilot 360 (blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, auto high beam, rear traffic warning) and a spray in bed liner.

I ordered this truck over a year ago and it just now arrived at the same time as my other new car, so one of them has to go. Just picked it up from the dealer on 10/7, so it is still in showroom condition with no issues. Also comes with the full Ford warranty.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you.

This is a "Maverick for sale" sub-forum and I posted a Maverick that is for sale. I hope there is not a problem with this.

This is the most reasonably priced Hybrid XLT that I can find on the internet. I figured I'd put it on here first before posting on Auto Trader.

I'm in Arizona. If it was a little closer, I'd talk to ya. I just need a truck but I don't have the time for a road trip

Consider giving Carmigo a try. It’s a dealer only auction and if your reserve price isn’t met it doesn’t sell.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone. A local dealer actually reached out to me and offered me $33,500. I'll most likely take that offer if someone on here isn't interested in the next few days.

The dealer will probably flip it for $40k! Your are handing over your equity. You may want to post on AutoTrader first for 2-3k less than Carvana and the dealer prices. That should sell.

Trying to sell here to people who have orders at msrp is not the right audience.

There is another choice, keep the Mav & you will save a lot more on gas over the years. Spread the miles out, both your vehicles will last twice as long. I have 2 Mavericks I show on my channel.

Good suggestion - I haven't ruled out throwing it on Auto Trader just yet.

I have a company vehicle that I drive 75% of the time (they pay for vehicle, gas, insurance, maintenance, etc). So my two personal vehicles might see 5k a year combined. Gas mileage savings wouldn't add up near as fast for me as it would for most people.

Brandon, meet the buyer during banking hours, walk into the bank together and deposit a cashier's check to your account. Then drive to the DMV or AAA together to change title on the spot with your release of liability completed. Easy. But there will be $3,000+ in sales tax to pay again when the Mav's title changes, usually by the buyer. Make sure this is written into the Bill of Sale before they hand you the cashier's check so they don't expect you to cover that cost. Also keep in mind the DMV reports the sale amount to the gov taxed as ordinary income so 30%-40% of your profit will be taken by Fed and state. This applies to selling to a dealer so making more will help cover the tax hit.

Maybe you should keep it after all, it's nice to have a truck for weekends. You can always sell it later. We use our AWD for light off-road and winter driving to ski. We use our hybrid for city and summer road trips like in this video series to Park City. I have driven Mercedes, BMW, Jeep. The Mav is more fun to drive than any of them.

Thanks for the reply. I've sold many many cars private party before, so I know exactly how to handle that. Tax on a used vehicle is always paid by the buyer and I have a notary right down the street from me that handles everything for my sales.

As far as the tax hit, I already talked to my tax professional and he told me you only get hit on the amount you make on the vehicle. This only applies if your salary is over 40k a year and sell the vehicle within one year of purchase (both would apply to me). He said the capital gains tax is only 15% in PA. For example, if I would sell for a $5,300 profit, I would need to pay in $795 at tax time. I'm not too concerned about that.

As far as keeping it, it's always a possibility. I know my Lexus F-Sport is commanding a pretty penny on the used market right now. Selling my 2023 Vette once it comes in next month is not even a consideration. So it's between the Lexus and Maverick for sure.

Great! I knew tax was on the profit but 15% should only be long term capital gains if you hold onto the truck for over a year (which is not a bad idea). A quick flip is taxed at ordinary income tax rates.

For gas savings, versatility having a bed/tow vehicle, or even for a hitch mounted bike carrier, I highly recommend keeping the Mav. A guy I met in a parking lot told me I was driving a unicorn.

You should find a new accountant. There are 2 types of capital gains. Short term-less than a year & long term -more than a year. You will owe federal taxes either way. % depends on your income. It doesn't cap at 15%. You will also owe state income taxes in most states. % varies by state.

Thanks for the correction. The tax professional is not technically my accountant, just someone I've used in the past to do my taxes. He may have misunderstood my email.

Regardless, I did call my banker and he said exactly what you stated. Seems less tempting to sell now.

You're less tempted to sell for a huge profit because you'll have to pay taxes on it?

I sold my XL for $34,500. Even after taxes, fees, and everything I made about $8,200.
