I'm wondering the same thing. Pretty much all states have an online sales tax requirement, so it can't be that. And I've never heard of any state being that restrictive on auto accessories. Vermont, Oklahoma, and Arizona aren't exactly "fringe" states politically (at least not on the same side of the aisle), so it makes me wonder if there is some legacy legal technicality at play here that just hasn't been a priority to get fixed.
Probably dealer franchise laws since technically Ford would be selling parts/accessories direct to you, the consumer. They can't sell a car direct to you, after all.

The closest is about 3 hours away in Texas. But I'm not driving that far for Maverick Lettering. I explained to Ford Marketing, they could setup a central distribution center in another state, then mail it out from there to AZ, OK, and VT. There is always ways to bypass things.
There are plenty of people who sell them on Etsy in different colors and patterns, just buy from there. They’re relatively cheap and I’m sure that wouldn’t be a shipping issue.

Ship it to me, Waxahachie, TX and I will ship it to you if you want.
I appreciate it, but I already had it ordered through the dealership. It's there waiting until my Mav gets there in a week or two. Hence my frustration. I was told by Ford Marketing last week that the dealership needed to contact their Ford Resources (that is verbatim ) and they could process the gift card. Now I'm told otherwise.

OP, I hear you. I have always had Fords, at least for me, they always seem to be the most bang for the buck, Maverick included (ordered 23). They cannot please everyone and I am not sure they really try that hard. Their recent (up through mid 2019 builds) ecoboost 1.5, 1.6 and 2.0 cylinder coolant in leakage has cost them a lot of customers forever, yet they still fight it in court because they know it is more expensive to extend the powertrain warranty over 5 years 60K miles than it is to lose these folks as customers. There are lot of these on the road today with a lot more failures to come with complete engine replacement as the repair. If they are out of warranty, Ford says, "sorry" never said it would last past the warranty.

I do think Ford will be one of the survivors in the future with EVs and hybrids as they already are jumping in head first with their new EV platform and their brand is well recognized. In any case, I agree, Ford and their dealers can be difficult. The thing is they do not have to be perfect, they just have to be as good or better than others in their market which, to this point in time, they have been successful I would say. You and I bought a Ford right?

Make yourself feel better, go and give the gift card to your favorite Ford sales person or your favorite Ford service person, tell them how much you appreciate them, maybe Karma will come back to you.

I appreciate that...and I might do that. I think the point some people are missing in all this, is the poor communication and mixed information from Ford Marketing. Being told different things by different people at Ford, especially when I have product waiting to be purchased.

I understand the frustration about the gift card, though for different reasons. I have been unable to redeem mine, because the site keeps telling me to enter a valid code. I have tried copying and pasting the gift card code with and without spaces and tapping the shop now link to no avail. I haven't had time to call Ford back to see what my next steps are.

Nope...not from Jersey....originally from Alabama. Just a die hard Devils fan. Did play men's league hockey in my younger years.

It did the same thing to me when I tried to order on the accessories site. As I told Ford Marketing earlier, if you can't use the card for vehicle accesories, then they probably should link the website with the merchandise site. Ford Marketing said there is no reason I shouldn't be able to use that card for accessories...I guess that was wrong.

People will literally complain about anything. I am sorry you have been waiting for a long time.... seems like everyone has including myself. Dont mean to bash anyone, it just seems that every single post is someone complaining about something.
