That is really cool. It might also make finding things in the dark a bit easier - when we make cable trunks (Cadillacs in the AV trade) we paint the insides of them a dove grey versus the black outsides - it's so much easier to see a black cable against the grey. As long as what you're hauling isn't orange, it should stand out!

I'm thinking something similar. I plan on using a tonneau cover (probably BAK X4s unless I change my mind if/when I get my '23 Mav). I'm thinking that it will be easier to see objects in the bed with the cover closed if the bed surface isn't a light-absorbing black.
