My dealer called me this morning and told me my truck has shipped and to expect it in 2-3 weeks, Ford tracking still has not updated to reflect this information

Crossing my fingers that you hear some good news! it sorta sounds like they’re working through the ones that have been sitting as uncle Ed had his ship I believe yesterday or today as well

Thank you ! Maybe calling my dealer and forcing them to check instead of the "no word yet" so yours still says built ? but not shipped, maybe this is what my dealer meant when they say sometimes the mavericks "Show Up"

Yup, still stuck at the “built” phase, i mean my dealer could just be feeding me a line, but I can’t imagine how it would benefit them to tell me a vehicle is on the way that they can sell that really isn’t on the way

Right ! I would think they would want to deliver bad news so they can mark it up !

Exactly! On a side note, I don’t think this rail strike is really gonna happen and even if it does it will most likely be short lived, i think the management at these rail companies is feeding things to the media that they can use to try and get themselves a better deal with the unions out of public fear

I asked my dealer to track the shipment and here is what he wrote:"the only visibility a dealer has into the shipping date is after the fact. Same with the arrival date. We will get an email that says "X" vin numbers are being delivered today. I need to have the vehicle on the ground to find out about price protection, but we can run that once it arrives".

Is what he said true? They have no way to track a car until it actually arrives? Also, the price protection thing got me wondering. Why is that even an issue on a June 2021 order? I thought they were automatically price protected based on your original deal price. Should I smell a rat?

My dealer said he just needed the invoice from ford for the price protection (ford bills the dealer then they send my order form and they get a refund for the difference ) The invoice before the truck is built I believe

What is your "built date"? I'm in CLT and built date was 9/2... have been tracking my truck and was in Linwood, KS as of yesterday (Nogales, AZ on the 9th). Depending on where you are in SC, maybe ours are on the same railcar.


Once you have the railcar info (letters and numbers) you can check via phone below

CSX
1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say CN (or whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt.
4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 (or whatever your number is)
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

I'm keeping an eye on this thread too. I have an XLT with FX4 and the 4K towing package. The truck was built 8/25, but it still says "Built" and "awaiting shipment" right now. Seems like way too large of a gap.

Yes, the tracker said shipped as of 9/9. I called CSX an hour ago and when prompted gave them the railcar #.
